Simon Mignolet won the Golden Ball in Belgium. I'm not sure what that is, but apparently its prestigious and he's only the 6th goalkeeper ever to win it. I'm glad for him. He was a model pro when when he lost his spot in our team and by all accounts a good skin.
Jürgen Klopp has issued the following updates on Liverpool FC's injured players - Virgil van Dijk, Diogo Jota and Roberto Firmino expected back in team training in "a couple of weeks" - Luis Díaz "will take a little longer" - expected back in training in March. - Arthur Melo still "two to three weeks" away from full training - Fábio Carvalho has missed training this week and likely to miss Brighton game - Nat Phillips struck down by illness this week and has not trained as a result Don’t like these ‘couple of weeks’…always seems to double.
I know it was based on a huge year in terms of going to the maximum number of games and huge CL money for making the final but we passed Utd on the revenue generated table last year for the first time ever that they've been putting them together. With the expansion in August due to increase matchday further we might be getting to a platform now where we can genuinely compete financially with the real big spenders.
And if we miss out on Champions League football this year we'll fall back below them, and even further below if they get Champions League football. So we'll inevitably be playing catch up again.
over the last 38 league games liverpool have 77 points and city have 85, not as far ahead as you'd expect. both totals are way off what they've been capable of over the last few years. it would suggest that both teams are suffering from running each other in to the ground going toe to toe over the last few seasons, city absorbing the drop off slightly better. if city were still racking up ridiculous points again this season i'd be a lot more concerned about liverpool's drop off.
It’s just typical though the season City are not at the same level, LFC have fallen off a cliff. I still think City will win it this season, they will beat Arsenal Wednesday week
For the first time I actually think Arsenal will win it. That City side look as toasted as we do. De Bruyne was only sub but he looked gassed after 10 minutes, looked like he borrowed Fabinho's legs. It's possible City have data that shows holding back Foden, Dias, Laporte and Walker will pay off eventually but it appears otherwise to me. The short preseason after another mammoth battle has clearly taken the toll, the 3 sides that played the most games must be down 50 points between them. That has to offer encouragement that we're not finished as a side, just bolloxed. Just checked, down 34 points between last years top 3.
I think Arsenal will find a way to lose it with either City or Utd to capitalise. I just cannot see Arsenal winning the league
How does Bajcetic rise affect our summer plans? Do we still need 2 CM’s this summer? Midfield 22/23 Fab Hendo Milner Thiago Jones Naby Ox Bajcetic Elliott Melo 23/24 Fab Hendo Thiago Bajcetic Elliott Jones Milner ? Bellingham? ???
