a lad I work with texted me on Saturday saying he though the game was going to be a draw, "look at the date" he said. 1 9 19. the match ended 19 19, that's mad ted. bleedin raging I didn't throw a few cuid on it.
Joe Brolly has had a change of heart. The ref was correct with the peno and with the sending off now.
watched the game back on tv since last week and it was a definite pen for kerry and a red for cooper but kerry should have also been down to 14 men.
I've no opinion on whether RTE were right or wrong to dump Brolly but I've no sympathy for him. Build a brand on being controversial and you have to take everything that goes with it,the good and the bad and if it blows up in your face, well that's just an occupational hazard of the route you've chosen to take. I dont know about anybody else but somebody who's impartial doesn't have a reaction to decisions so strong that he questions the refs character or integrity, then come to the conclusion a week later he was wrong and "everydays a school day". Either he wasn't being honest on the day or hes not being honest now, either way it shows he's tailoring his opinions to suit an agenda.
If it’s a draw after 70 on Saturday there’s extra time 10 mins each way. Anyone know what’s the story after that if it’s still level. In O’Byrne Cup they go after 5 mins each day way but not sure if it’s the same?
Club championship in Monaghan has seen a few penalty shoot outs this year. Not sure if it’s the same here though
