Liverpool legends V's Longford Town

Hi All,

I’m writing on behalf of Longford Town F.C. who have recently organised a friendly against a Liverpool legends selection for the 12th of September at 3p.m.

I would hope that anyone from the area might be interested in coming to see some of the players from the past. On that note I’ll give you some of the names that have been confirmed to us, Don Hutchinson, Paul Steward, Ronny Whelan, Mark Walters and Rob Jones among others. We are hoping to confirm a few others closer to the day including John Aldridge.

Tickets for the game are €15 for Adults, €10 for Students & OAP’s, with kids €5.

The other thing to mention is that we are auctioning 2 squad positions on the Liverpool team if anyone might be interested. Just to let you know that the current highest bids are €200 and €180.

Finally a dinner will be held that evening in which there will be a chance to meet and greet the players, ticket prices for this have yet to be confirmed.

liverpool are playing birmingham that day at 4 o clock,i'd say that'll have a big effect on the attendance.i'd say aldo'll be working for radio city that day too.
if it was on the saturday i'd probably head up with the young lad...

Hi guys,

Just a short update to say that with less than a week to go we've got some more players confirmed. John Aldridge is now down to play and we've also been promised that Bruce Grobbelaar will make an appearance..

We've also tried to meke it as accessable as possible with Family tickets available, 2 adults & 2 children for €35 or 1 adult & 3children for €25.

Just back from the legends night (oh me head still hurts)
Was a grand day. I have not been to Flancare in years so that was something of a reality check. The legends are great lads I was sitting with Rob Jones he is dead on. Did not see Brucie or so I think because I had a few on me. The best bit was when my wife pulled up outside the Longford Arms to collect me and two of the legends thought it was their lift back to Dublin to catch a flight and got in to the car with her That made my night and hers too I just have to remember who they were now
