How many of his signings will be around in 2 years never mind 11? Only couthinio and Can would bring in a profit If sold now, that's pathetic when you think about it, a truck load of players and only 2 bringing in a profit. Apologies if I forgot anyone one.
I won't pretend to understand how they came to them figures but £38 m for cisse has to be a wind up, £37 m for heskey. We paid £10.7 m for xabi, that table says it translates to £28.3 m, what would the £30 m we sold him for translate to?
I dont know mate. Maybe one of the youngsters in the academy sell for 100m 5 years after Brendans gone and will make it look better than the reality. Impossible to compare on a fair basis when we have the benifit of hindsight for rafa. Sent from my G7-L01 using Tapatalk
So real paying £30 m for xabi in 09/10 translates to £78 m now, that's mad Ted. But regardless of those calculations, surely Rafa made the club £20 ish m profit overall on players he brouggt to the club or am I missing something?
If you've just taken that 30m and used the same multiple that turned 10m in 2005 into 28m today, then that's not how it works pal. It's index linked to market prices at the time compared to now. For instance 5 or 6 years ago 13 or 14 million would of seemed a pretty big fee but now it will cost you that to sign a player like Shane Long and a team like Crystal Palace can afford that kind of fee.
Nah it's going over my head. In 09/10 we signed aqua for £17.1 m and Johnson for £17.5 but according to that table we paid £3 m more for aqua in 2014 terms, I'm confused. Alonso went the same season, looks like that £30 m translates to around £54 m and not £78 m.
Rafa responds to Mourinho's comments. Link. The good old "I am concentrating on preparing my team" line! Rafa 1, Mourinho 0. Rafa la Bamba!
It would be amazing. Actually I read in another thread that this years pots for the CL have the winners of the top 8 European leagues in Pot 1. So Real could draw Chelsea in the group stages? Nice.
Yes, that is the case. Chelsea will be in Pot 1 and Real Madrid in Pot 2. Have to say I could not care less about this mini spat or what was said. Judging by some of the comments above you would think world war three had started.
Has anyone read Gerrard's book - I'm nearly finished but he is not and was not a fan of Rafa at all. Interesting reading.
Have not read it but previously have read that Rafa wasn't exactly an arm around the shoulder manager.
Reports saying Real want mourinho back and certain players are pushing for it aswell behind Rafa's back
