What's with the Hitler salutes by the ref every 5 minutes? Some of these new rules look absolutely shite.
Harsh red in McHale park IMO Not sure if it's a tactic working very well for Mayo or Dublin just plain shite in getting the ball into the forwards. Poor stuff so far but expecting Dublin to make the extra man count at some stage.
Mayo's old failing still haunts them (scoring chances wasted) - Ciaran McDonald not making an instant impact - were doing well until the harsh sending off, which ruined the game - Dubs would probably have won anyway, but it might have been a better game to watch.
good comeback by Dublin, another few minutes and they would've won that game. monaghan will no doubt feel hard done by but jaysus they wasted some amount of time.
Was obviously delighted the ref added on more minutes than the original 6. Monaghan were on their arses for 5.5 mins of them. Having said that thought Monaghan were very good tonight and that point by Beggan was outrageous.
Didn’t get to see any of it and only caught bits on the radio but was 6 minutes injury and then 3 extra minutes for 2 subs? Sounds off to me but I suppose would not look great Monaghan beating the Dubs 3 in a row in the league thought this year would be a write off for Monaghan in transition but great showing so far in the league
Dublin scored a point bang on 71 minutes. The restart happened about 2 minutes after that, directly from the restart Monaghan won a free on the half way line which the keeper took with 75 minutes on the clock. In 4 of the 6 minutes added on the only player to touch the ball was the keeper, twice. With the amount of time wasted that game should still be going on.
Was horrible conditions to play a game of football at HQ Watched from the Hill and was very impressed with how Monaghan played with the wind. Moved with pace power and a game plan that Dubs couldn't work out for the whole half with some excellent scores. 2nd half and Monaghan completely changed the game plan. Before the ball was thrown the mission was to completely spoil the game that the conditions were already seeing to. Running the clock down with fake injuries, slow kick outs and general slow play was the wrong side of cute hoorism. Dublin were always going to come back but I thought they had left themselves too much to do. Miles off their usual standard so huge credit not to lose it. Credit to both teams for making a game of it under those conditions. Those points kicked from Beggan 2nd half defied logic.
Injury time a joke in that game if you compare it to the Monaghan Dublin game. 7 held up, sendings off, an injury and plays 1 extra minute. At least 2 or 3 more played If Dubs were a point down
This thread should be called Dublin 2020. No one talks in it unless the champions are playing. Great to see.
First I was thinking where did 7 minutes come from in the first place as it didnt seem to be that amount needed. To then blow just over a minute past 77 after all the hand bags goes to show there's just no consistency. Decent pair of games in HQ tonight both codes.
I am talking about facts It’s mental though how for years you’d be lucky to get 3 minutes injury time and now the default is 6/7 and then it’s up to the ref to decide when he wants to blow it up.
Savage win for Monaghan against Mayo and great hammering for Tyrone by Galway. Was expecting Monaghan to struggle this year, cracking start to the league and in the mix.
Tyrones 1st red VAR’d was shocking from the player. Ran at the Galway lad at pace and leveled him with an elbow. Delighted Galway tanked them in the end. Great result for the Farney. After next week will become clearer who’s going down with Meath.
