Just got around to Tiger King. On Episode 2 and it’s already the maddest shit I have ever seen. I remember one of the Louis Theoroux docs about the nazis and obviously Making a Murderer but this is bananas. Have heard some of the other bits from people so expect it to get even madder.
I seem to be a population of 1 on this but I thought it was absolute trash. Some funny bits but I really don't understand the attraction, finished it because I'd heard so much about it but found it painful viewing.
Make that 2. I thought it started well enough but by the end I couldn't wait for it to be over. I don't think it would've been half as popular without Covid.
I recommend Schitts Creek, comedy series. Watch one episode and if don’t like it, leave it as humour stays the same. We are on the 5th season now and released the 6th and last season over the weekend
Great show. Watched it a few months ago. Very easy watch . I can see why it won’t be everyone’s taste, but Jim’s day from America pie, is brilliant in it.
Yeah, Schitt's Creek is nice easy viewing. Characters are well drawn. Another easy watch is Fastest Car. Three "sleeper" or modified cars go up against one supercar each week in four car quarter mile drag race. You get to see the story of each car and owner. If you are not into the personalities you can always skip to the last ten minutes to see the outcome of the race. Some of the americans are so full of sh*t
Bit late to it.. but the last dance is unbelievable. An insight into a genius of his sport and the generation. The belief he had in himself.
Finished Tiger King including the after show. a bit like making a murderer it’s unbelievable the footage they had from key moments in the story. The Last Dance next on the list, can’t wait to get stuck into it
The Jordan documentary is great entertainment and incredibly well put together. The documentary integrity of it doesn't hold water as Jordan had final production calls so it's pretty much a really well made puff piece about himself but I still think it's excellent but it should carry a few warnings that it doesn't aim to be entirely balanced. Jordan was allowed to create himself as he wanted to be seen. I'd love to see what Kimmage would make of it.
You could give me double his money and I wouldnt want to be Michael Jordan. What made him as good as he was makes him pretty unappealing as a person,I dont think he has a real friend in the world and not a chance being the best at any sport would be worth it for the life he lived. I loved the documentary,he's the best athlete of all time imo but if that was a puff piece I dread to think how things really were.
maybe it was no big deal but I found it weird that he would sit in a room with his security team away from the rest of the bulls players before games
Seems Jordans ex teammates all pretty unanimous in their disappointment in how the documentary turned out but they should have known enough about Jordan through the years to know this was a one man band but the creators giving MJ production and editorial control of the series is just awful journalism if you wanted something balanced at the end of it.
Its not that strange. My team mates used to make me sit in a room away from them before every match. And afterwards in the pub, they would all cram in to the bar while I was told to enjoy the spacious lounge all by myself. Although I was far from the best player on the team so maybe it is a bit weird.
ESPN giving Brady the 9 part documentary treatment next and as luck would have it he also has a production company and will have editorial control. The least they should do is actually promote these things as self produced so people know they're not in any way balanced. The Tiger Woods one is going to be insane when they get to it.
It's mainly the access people are most interested in. There's a Lance Armstrong one coming up soon,a horrible person who'll probably spend most of his screen time telling us how he's the victim in his story but it will still be fascinating. Then the debate afterwards about how balanced it was will give it more publicity, just like with The Last Dance.
