    Like?

Anyone I know who has been have absolutely loved it. And that includes my non-gambling sister, and a friend of mine who was on a family holiday there a fortnight ago. All of them say they will go back.

It's the business. There is a million things to do, gambling is only part. There are shows, (magic, music, drama whatever!), nature reserves (lions, sealife), funfair rides (Circus Circus, New York New York). Great restaurants and of course lying by the pool.

There's also trips to the Grand Canyon and Hoover Dam.

And of course the little white chapel ;-)

there was a thread on this before dave you might get some more info on vegas in there. i was there two years ago with Joanne and we loved it, there is as much or as little to do depending on what you are into,
Gran canyon by helicopter is a must - you can combine this with white water rafting, driving hummers cross country, and many other things

The shows are amazing - o by circue de solei in the belaggio is amazing
Stomp in planet hollywood is good too
Many other things i could mention but will tell you in person

Vegas is a mad place i would recomend everybody see it at least once in thier lifetime !

Was there 4 years ago for my 10th wedding annivesary and going back for 6 days on the 3rd October this year for both of our 40th birthday presents!!!

Its the most sureal place you will ever visit and it has everything! You don't have to gamble as with shows, night clubs, and fun rides etc in all hotels you can keep yourself busy without losing all your money!

Last time we did an over night helicopter trip to cowboy ranch as seen on no frontiers holiday show, singing cowboys around campfire roasting marshmellows over campfire etc. Included helicopter flight over hoover dam, lake mead, and on way back next day you are flown right up the las vegas strip, its just brilliant and would recomend to anyone heading over.

Went to see we will rock you, queen musical show also excellent, dancing fouyntain bellagio hotel, MGM, Ceasars Palace, stratosphere rides on top of it, little white wedding chapel.

Tip we got before we went last time. When playing slots and you get up to $50 - $70 in your winning kitty print off receipt and move to another slot machine and you wont go wrong. I won the jackpot on one of those large one arm $1 slot bandit machines which at the time was $365.00 which was great! although when it started to drop large gold colour coins i thought i was rich:D:cool:

Best place i've been too, and can't wait for october to come around!!

One of the best places in the world to visit. Even if you not into gambling there is loads to do. Would not be pushed on living there, but defo worth a visit.

I thought it was a great place, don't realy gamble and went as a starting point to drive to Sanfrancisco organised by my wife. We loved it all the hotels are mad, went to the show in Ballagio which was o.k and did the grand cannion in the helicopter which was class. I would go back .. . . .

Always dreamed of going there, and hope to in the next couple of years. Poker players paradise.

Btw OP spotted a deal in a paper yesterday (haven't checked the site tbh):

November travel to Vegas, four night package, including flights and three-star accomodation, starting from €455pps - www.touramerica.ie.

Some great deals to be had at the moment! Best of luck, and may all your flops be at the card tables :)

    +1

Went there with the Mrs2B a couple of years ago, would love to go back again (seperate trip required with the lads sometime too me thinks ;)). Stayed at the MGM, which was fairly central and not too expensive.

From what I've read and heard from others, most hotels will upgrade you if you send them some sort of bull**** e-mail telling them your traveling from Ireland on your trip of a lifetime / honeymoon / honeymoon etc and are really looking forward to staying with their hotel, but are on a very tight budget and you were wondering can they recommend some ways to save money etc. Worth a try ;)

Here's the original link, which has loads of info on it btw:

I have been over a few times for poker related reasons, but there is definitely more to do than that. I think 3/4 days would be more than enough really for most people though, as I have spent 2x fortnightly stints there as well as another brief visit, and it does get old a bit quickly in my opinion, especially if you are there during the ridiculous summer heat. Would definitely recommend going to a first timer though, as it is a surreal mad place in many ways. The most annoying aspect of it in my opinion though is the constant line of people handing out flyers all along the strip at night for various prostitutes. There are literally hundreds of them at night, all along the strip.
