They'll definitely have to rest players at some point. 5 games in something like 13 days is a huge ask and I'm not sure that their squad has much strength in depth.
Very dull affair although Dzeco might have won it for Roma in the dying minutes. 0-0 final result. Five out of the ten matches in Seria A this weekend finished 0-0.
In lieu of Liverpool winning the league i'm glad it was a team who play such impressive football as City that won it. HersHe to 2018/19 and seeing if we can challenge ourselves and try get one over on them.
Watched the derby tonight to get a feel of what we’re up against! Dzecko very quite but he’s always dangerous. Nothing for 88mins and then two great headers, albeit when Lazio went to 10 men! Very organised and composed at the back but Lazio had their moments and lacked composure! Three at the back for Roma and they pushed high at times but can’t see them playing high at anfield! Nangland, Peres and under impressed but nothing to be shaking in our boots over! Great opportunity to make a final here! Come on Redmen
Thought the Derby was poor. Was surprised Lucas didn’t get sent off. Strootman tried his best in the second half. Manalos went off injured for Roma.
West Ham's late equaliser effectively ends the league season in all but the formalities. Champions done, top four 99% decided, bottom three 98% decided. Boring month or so left.
I don't know is it just me but as we have Top 4 pretty much wrapped should we actually care about 2nd or 3rd when winning the CL is on the line. Of course 2nd or 3rd place finish would be brilliant but if it means risking injury in the last 4 games that would cost us in the CL then forget it.
The manager is big into the focus of the team so I suspect he wouldn’t rest the players for all the games. I could see a good few being on the bench this weekend and the following week however think for Brighton you could see full strength as a few weeks away from the final if it comes to that
Actually it's worth a massive amount of money in next year's CL depending on where we finish, your split of the prize fund for certain things are a % based on league position. But CL will obviously take precendence over the league from here on in I'd say!
Would make a difference not to have to go through a qualifying round in the Champions League I guess. Also, Spurs slip up last night has one downside in that it gives Chelsea hope to still take a top four spot, and Spurs will want to kick on to ensure they stay top 4. We don't want to get complacent. As it stands we could still win three of our last 4 and not come 3rd. I'd like to see a strong enough lineup early saturday and get the three points in the bag, stifle Chelsea's hopes before we play them in second to last game of the season.
