If he wins the league I'd say tuchel will be on the ropes, unless Bayern win the CL but I can't see that. The Bayern fans would love to see xabi as their next manager, be hard to turn them down
True, suppose it’s more of a case of Leverkusen totally overachieving rather than Bayern being really poor. Even an average Bayern side would normally be good enough to easily win the BL. Bayern and Chelsea will probably buy half of Leverkusen’s team this summer so that may help make Alonso’s mind up cos he won’t be able replicate what he’s done this season. Can’t see him jumping ship to Bayern straight away because it would alienate the Leverkusen fans so going to us would be the natural move if it was offered to him.
Munich Job comes up all the time 7 coaches since Pep, If ya go back to when Rafa started with us they have had 15 managers. Might be his only chance to manage Liverpool.
Haven't given it much consideration,Id rather stay in the moment with Klopp, but saw a good point raised today. There's a lot of people who won't be happy if it's not Alonso. It's already the impossible job replacing Klopp, throw in the obstacle of not being Alonso and that's some situation the new fella will be facing.
i'd like to see Alonso in fairness that said , Gerrard may not be a bad shout let's be honest he's only in Saudi for the €€€ , seeing as he is a red through and through he'd bleed for us , wouldn't take no shit either whoever comes in will have big shoes to fill no matter who it is
I remember a former legendary midfielder taken the managerial reigns over from an iconic and successful manager. It didn't work out well and set us back years. He managed Rangers too funnily enough. Love the bones of Steven Gerrard the player. Seriously question his ability as a manager and I absolutely question his moral compass. Let's be honest, his CV shouldn't have him near the "to interview" file. Xabi might have an even shorter CV but it's clear as day who the better candidate is.
I’m always wary about taking on an ex player as manager. Alonso does have a short CV but he seems to be doing something right. Arteta finally not doing too bad of a job either as a young ex player.
Heard a good quote on Sky Sports News. There are plenty of good managers out there but not many good Liverpool managers.
I can understand the sentiment. Potter, De Zerbi, Emery, Frank are all good managers, but working for clubs with entirely different expectations. I wouldn't want them anywhere near the Liverpool job. I think its Alonso or anyone's guess beyond that.
Good god no. A good manager but the anthesis of what a Liverpool manager is or should be. Lacks humility, class, his teams play awful awful stuff Simeome and Gerrard should be a long way off our list.
Tuchel gone at the end of the season anyway There's a certain ex-Bayern midfielder who they will go all out to get now
Shocking decision. Why wait? He's obviously lost the dressing room. Still a (slim) chance to win the league and maybe European Cup.
