for me hes a player to bring on at home if we need a goal around the 75th min and are bombarding the other team. another body in there for a scrappy goal. cant start - too slow. Borini better option. 4th choice for me.

When we signed him i felt it was a no brianer due to the previous season with the saints but now i dunno, cant figure him out atal. Maybe he's a confidence player if he scores a few he mite kick on but take even last nite he looked like he could be there for days and still would;nt score continiously over running pass's , getting in weird positions, lossing the ball. We'll give him time and hope he comes good as a player of he's cailiber should.

Not here long and imo I think he will definitely come good once he bags a couple, Southampton's play isn't exactly slow and he was well able for that so I think he just needs time, probably a bit over awed by the whole thing but needs to push on soon.

He looked over awed last night, maybe been captin last night played its part as well. I don't know, he just looked out of his dept last night. I thought the signing was a no brainier, maybe he just needs a few goals?

Not a good start so far but I've watched him a fair few times for Southampton and was very impressed. His goals and assists record last year were good too. I think he'll contribute but will always be behind Balotelli and Sturridge.

Could be that alright plus playing in front of his relies in liverpool. Also for a striker the longer you go without a goal the more it dents the confidence.

If only he'd done the natural thing and went for goal with that chance against City instead of trying to set Sturridge up we could be having a different conversation altogether...and we may have got something from that game also!
Ah well, if you're Granny had balls...

Do people actually really care what number a player wears? Honestly ?

He doesn't look up to it no matter what number he's wearing at the moment

He doesn't have much to do to better the last number 9....

Sturridge should have got that number in the summer. Daft giving it to two bit part squad players who were never going to be club greats.

We seem to have a lot of uk players the last few years that were overpriced and didnt do so well when they arrived. stewart downing and henderson spring to mind. One of them did well and one was ok. If a couple of the new lads make the first 11 then we have an ok return for the cash outlay.I think lambert will take a season or two like henderson to find his feet.

I wasn't expecting Lambert to be particularly speedy or anything but I am a little surprised at how slow he can be which usually leads to us slowing our play down.

Like Balotelli, I don't think he should be a lone striker.

Thought he done well. Was involved in first goal and thought he could have been left on for the 90.

Had the presence of mind to pull his foot away from hendo's shot for the 2nd goal.must've been very tempting to tap it in,if he had it would've been disallowed for offside.

Let's teach Mario a lesson by dropping him and starting a player that does pretty exactly what Marios been doing since he came. Don't see lambert being a hit for us it saddens me because I'd love him to have been, but the lack of quality up top in sturridges absence so far was only sugar coated today.

    Agree 100%

I'd like to see him get a run in a couple of games close together now, give him at least the same amount of time that Mario has had to date and see what he can do ....

Mario is lightyears ahead of him. Under no circumstances should Lambert be ever starting when Sturridge and Mario are able to walk.
