Looks like a disaster to me. https://www.theguardian.com/football/2016/jul/12/euro-2020-bilbao-baku-more-minnows
It's as clear as mud. On other aspect of this Nations League is if the qualification process is considered a separate new competition because if so It may be the case that matches involving Ireland have to be shown on terrestrial television. Or maybe the government listed sporting events will be modified.
Stopped reading half way through the second paragraph. Way too far in the future for me to worry about.
UEFA Nations League format confirmed http://www.uefa.com/uefanationsleague/news/newsid=2501767.html#/
so in this uefa nations league that starts next september and runs til november can a handful of teams already be qualified for the 2020 finals as early as november 2018 ? i was reading about this a couple of weeks ago and thought i don't need to understand it yet, i forgot about it again til seeing this thread
Slightly off topic but the ballot on uefa site for 2020 tickets ends in a couple of hours for anyone who hasnth applied for the ones they want yet or forgot about it
I have heard there are less applications than the total amount of tickets available. But that is not per category, so what will happen to people in category 3 who are unsuccessful, but didn't select to be upgraded, I don't know. Tickets won't be reduced in price for a long time yet I'd say (if at all).
Applied for the four Dublin games as well.Am I right in saying games featuring Ireland (should we make it) & Spain are fixed for the Aviva ?
If Ireland and Spain both qualify, one team will have all 3 group games at home, and the other team will have 2 home games, playing the other team away from home. A draw will decide that. So we will play 2 in Dublin, and the third will be in either Dublin or Bilbao. If only one of Ireland and Spain qualify, they will have all 3 group games at home.
Probably a good idea to book accommodation with free cancellation now on the off chance I get lucky with the ballot.
