Sky Sports News struggling badly to try and stir it up a bit, making reference to something Klopp said when the Mancs signed Pogba and that he'd quit football if Pogba's price became the norm etc.

If memory serves he said "if fee's like Pogba's become the norm, I'll quit football". Even if it werent a throw-away one liner, just to be pedantic - We spent 66.8m on Alisson, 75m on VVD, so Klopp's never spent "Pogba money" as the norm. He also never sold either of those players for 1m a few years earlier. A case of having to accept the new normals in football. In a world where Richarlison is commanding a 50m fee, a keeper with a handful of games is getting 12m, the likelyhood of 50/60/100 million players is getting more and more commonplace. Given the tv rights in England/Ireland sell for 6 billion a season, only makes sense that more and more players will start commanding premiums....every player is worth more, season on season now it seems.
Pogba was the world record when he said that and now the record is over twice that fee.Van Dijk and Allison are 50% or less of the Coutinho fee, never mind the Neymar fee.Another story where all context is ignored for a cheap stick to beat Klopp with.
I often feel that Klopp can be a little too honest for his own good (and not in a bad way). He said something some time ago and has changed his mind. Big deal - move on. He would do well to ignore people throwing something in his face from a couple of years ago and asking him to comment on it now. The journos will soon get fed up and move onto other topics. Jesus, if we were all questioned about stuff that we said years ago ......
Aim this season should be a sustained title challenge. I believe LFC are capable of it if get some luck injury wise. City last season were excellent however seasons recently they have not been as good have been when a combination of Kompany, Silva, KDB and Aguero have been out at the same time.
I would agree with the aim, however 25 points is a lot to make up on city from last year. Granted we probably were distracted a bit with the champions league during the run in last year so 25 points may have been 16-18 without that.

Excellent article. The point about Brandt & Sessegnon are interesting. It is something that I have thought about myself - as an attacking young player, are you going to get game time in front of Sane, Mo & Bobby? I'm sure JK will sell the club in another way to them and sell to them their role as the future of the club. But it is a slight concern that some players might think that LFC are now too good for them!! Not a bad place to be but Sessegnon & Brandt (And the likes of Pulisic) are really exciting young players who I hope would consider LFC a good fit for career development. Good find Babbs, a really interesting piece to read.
She's a great writer with an excellent tactical understanding of Klopps methods and a lot of access to the club.
Great article. Record of signings has been unreal. Widely accepted that 50% of signings being a success is usually a good hit rate. The two most successful managers in Premier League era Wenger and Ferguson signed a lot of bad players, so hit rate here is probably not sustainable. Long may it continue though
Only thing you can do is go drinking in as many pubs as possible after the match. It's a tough job but somebody has to do it.
