FA needs to talk to clubs about players getting stronger bans

imo refs are at poor enough standard in the premier league

If prickford isn't punished retrospectively what sort of an example is that to set?!!
You'll have guys chancing these scissor tackles more often not to mention kids!

From my observations of him in games the past few seasons he seems like he has a screw loose!
Makes rash mistakes & is constantly barracking himself, so I'm sadly not one bit surprised he's capable & indeed made such a wild & senseless tackle......

Like it or not, keepers get away with tackles like that. Coaches always tell you to get the man and ball cos refs don’t penalise you for it. Kepa is getting slaughtered by Chelsea fans for not clattering Che Adams yesterday. I would expect Alisson to do the exact same if it was Calvert-Lewin.

Yes, it is all very well complaining about VAR but Oliver saw the challenge on Virgil and chose to ignore it. It is an absolute disgrace.

Big loss for us and I wish VD a speedy recovery (although I know that we'll be lucky to see him play regularly again, this season).

From the options open to us, I'm ready to try Matip and Fab togeather for a few games, think they both have a bit more maturity to their game than Gomez, and while it'll take time for an understanding to develop between the two lads, I've ultimately not confidence in Fab, then Gomez.

I think our front 3 can give us a chance for rest of the season, we will need to outscore teams
Crazy defending going on in every game so I don't expect many clean sheets
Alisson back ASAP and as said above put Fab in with Matip

That midfield trio v Everton was just outstanding, I’d prefer to leave it as it is and go with Matip and Gomez
It was One of the best midfield performances your going to witness anywhere in the world .

If we can just be a bit more clinical id be very confident we will holding on to the premiership title again

Wonder if we will see Robbo and Trent playing 10 yards further back for a bit now?

We could afford to play the full backs as auxillary wingers aswe had VVD back minding the house. No way Matip and Gomez (who has been in a funk for months now) inspire the same confidence, if not I can see Fab playing deeper to drop in to make a back 3 when our FB's invariably get caught upfield.

Bloody disgrace that Pickford is getting away with this. Using the excuse that the Ref saw the assault, as did VAR and deemed it a reasonable tackle really only proves they dont want to punish an English international, and that Oliver and the VAR guy both need to go to Specsavers.

Wonder if they'd hold the same view if Fabianski did that to Kane?

Was thinking that we may even see Gomez play the odd game at RB with Fabinho at CB.

Was just coming on to post similar...Fab, Hendo and Thiago are the best midfield 3 in the league by a country mile. As good as Thiago was on Saturday (and he was bloody magnificent), I thought Hendo was even better.

It’s as a good a midfield performance as any top midfield performance in a Liverpool jersey .

I’d try and not break it up

Agreed and I would think Klopp will pick the players in their first choice position

It's a very good point about the midfield performance alright mate, but when push comes to shove, I find myself wondering what's more important, a better defense or a better midfield, and for me, its a better defense.

We've seen Fabibho play CB not even a handful of times. We don't know how much more effective he'll be there than a fit Matip or Gomez,or even if he will be. We do know he's one of the worlds best defensive midfielders. If everybody's fit, play Matip and Gomez at CB. Realistically though Fabinho will still be required at CB in quite a few games. I'd imagine Kopp knows where he'll be most important to the team while Van Dijk is out. The rest of us are at best having an educated guess of how good he is a CB.
