i was half asleep in bed this morning but almost certain i heard on the radio that you can provide a covid test up to 36 hours after arrival back in the country, is that true?
Seems to be, home isolate for 3 days and get a test or home isolation for 10 days, absolute shambles it is, I've already wasted the money booking the test
https://www.gov.ie/en/press-release...changes-to-international-travel-requirements/ Passengers to Ireland who arrive without a negative test result are required to home quarantine and take a PCR test within 36 hours of arrival. A subsequent negative / not detected text can enable the passenger to exit home quarantine. If no PCR test is taken the passenger must remain in home quarantine for 10 days after arrival. Travelling to Villa match at weekend. From reading this and as suggested above, doesn't appear a pre flight test is required at all....
Wee question, how are you supposed to arrive here without a negative test if the airline dont let you on d plane ? Think about it
My guess is the airlines have told them they can't guarantee everyone is checked as it will cause delays and no doubt Micheal O' Leary would look for compensation. Same way I haven't been asked to provide a vaccination cert yet for the few trips to the UK over the last three months. It's all optics by the government but the public are seeing right through this BS.
if you can provide a pcr test on return i can see loads just booking a hse test, at that stage youre technically not using it for travel.
Even if you used the HSE one for travel, nobody checks. All they ever wanted to see was a negative test result and dont care about the source of the test. Friend came home from the UK via Manchester yesterday and he said there was about 20 people they wouldnt let on the flight becuase they didnt have a negative Anitgen or PCR, wonder are they aware of info on gov.ie website as above.
So just to clear up .. we now don’t need to take a test until we get home and airlines won’t look for this on entry to a flight .
Airlines will be looking for a test result or you won't be able to board the flight back to Dublin is my understanding.
I wouldn't be so sure of this. I provided a rapid test instead of a pcr test and I ended up in hotel quarantine for 3 days. I wouldn't be taking the chance. This was a few months ago now and the airport have loosened up security but me personally I wouldn't take that risk of the wrong test
Just took an antigen test for travel to Milan with GoSafe48. Had the result within 10 mins very very efficient
I came home from Lanzarote last night, just looked for the negative result before boarding the plane, didn’t ask for anything going through passport control at all back at Dublin.
For anyone using Gosafe48 for a quick day trip. Did you choose the €29 Antigen Travel Cert from the 'I am travelling from Ireland' section which I'm sure is fine. It's just that I dont see it under the 'I am travelling to Ireland' section, I just see the €69 PCR.
I dont think it matters, once you have the test. Im going to use them and the Antigen Test for Newcastle next week
