Looks like couthino is heading to Arsenal on loan.. Can't believe we didn't get a loan deal for him if he ends up there. All things point to him wanting to come back. Forgive and forget and all that..
Of course he does. We are champions of Europe and genuine title challengers. Guaranteed if Barca had knocked us out of the CL and we finished 4th in the league he wouldn't be so eager.
I didn't want to believe that it had happened but everything that came out of the club after his departure suggests that what you have said above is entirely accurate. Good luck to the chap, a wonderful footballer and I had always thought an honest pro but I think hes' burned his bridges with us.
Spurs favourites for coutinho on loan now, seemed abit of a no brainer for us to be in a conversation for him, hes a top player and were yet to phil the gap he left which was clearly thought about last year when we went for fekir and that fell through. Fully back the boys we have but seeing rivals strengthen and us do nothing rasies concerns in my eyes.
He's the type of player we could actually do with in this squad for this season so the opinion that he can fook off because of what he did has a bit of cutting the nose about it imo. He's a quality player who could fill in various positions that can be argued strengthens the first 11 never mind the bench. We've no idea what's going on behind the scenes and I trust klopp, but I think we're missing out on a smart bit of business here. He'll strengthen any of our domestic rivals that's for sure.
There's no way that fee has been paid in full over 18 months before even going into the add ons I reckon.
To be fair we've no idea how much Barca might want for a loan fee or even if they'd let him come to us on loan. Doing a deal with us for 140m and then 12 months later letting him come back on loan could be a serious loss of face as far as they're concerned. There are also stories he faked an injury to force his move and he'd be getting paid more than anybody else if he did come back so if Klopp saw either or both of those things as issues that could have a negative impact in the dressing room, that could easily mean it's not smart business at all. Depending on the circumstances there could also be smart business to be done but as you rightly say,we dont know the circumstances and theres no way of knowing unless we do.
Fully understandable with regards to the dressing room and a very fair point but I'll still go with him improving us as a team and our chances of success this year over a potential fall out unless as you say, he comes back looking to be the highest earner. I'm sure he dirtied his bib and I'm sure there's many people at the club who feel the same as many supporters do but on the whole, if he's that desperate for a return (it thats even true) then use him and his circumstances to our advantage. We know nothing of the numbers involved apart from klopps quote of it being too big for us but not sure if that was in the context of a transfer and wages or a loan deal which I do think is worth sniffing at. That's all. He's a prick for what he did, but a prick we could do with it from a bottom line results based opinion. Luckily this gets put to bed in a couple of days regardless.
I'm disappointed that he's not getting a squad number and some game time for the senior team this season, but that said I suppose this was down to getting him regular first team football in the PL and from that perspective, he's probably assured of game time at Bournemouth, whereas he'd need to wait until Salah was rested before he'd get on for us ... assuming Harry wasn't lined out for the cup games or something.
