    Yeah fantastic return.

Was crazy stuff from Villa today to play a high line and try pass out from the back when our press is working so well. The amount of space we had in behind to run into with the pace of Nunez was crazy.

One of the more relaxing games we've played in a while. Might be long season for villa in Europe

Very good today. We look to have so much more energy and confidence than last season. Great to see Gomez and Matip so comfortable apart from that one brain fart from Matip. Good cameo from Quansah again too.

Szoboslai is going to be so enjoyable to watch this season

Very good performance. Just looked more up for it than Villa. That Bailey brought on and then taken off early enough in second half summed up Villa.

Alisson again with some good saves. Great day at the office

Kudos to Matip and Gomez…Watkins and Diaby will give lots of defences trouble this year

All of our midfield players are so technically proficient, light on their feet too and tactically astute when it comes to covering space, they're still figuring their teammates out at the moment so I have huge expectations for them, we're stronger personnel wise than last year but we'll be challenged by teams who've had more time together. With that trio there (whichever trio that is)and Trent to create a bit of magic behind and Nunez a bit of carnage up front and Diaz and Salah with a bit of deft skill off the wings I'm very optimistic about what we can do in possession this year.

Big players stay injury free, LFC are going to give out some proper hammerings this season. Trent at home in particular passing is off the charts.

Great result and a great start to the season. 2 trickey aways out of the way.

Contrast it to last year when the pressure was very much on after the poor start.

Agreed last year particularly away from home something was not right from the start of the season. Fresh legs in midfield with Harvey and Jones another year down the road hopefully is a sign of a better away record.

14 unbeaten at home on the league and 1 defeat in 41 at home in the league. That was that strange game against Leeds last year. Despite a terrible season last year in general the home form was really strong.

Means nothing in reality but Liverpool unbeaten in 15 games now, comfortably in 2nd place in the table for that period and only 1 goal less scored than city, going in the right direction.

I actually meant to include that, high line with no pressure on the ball up the field is madness.

I didn't see the game, some knob head on Sky thought Palace v Wolves was more worthy. Had to suffer Kenny Cunningham for 90 minutes on the radio, when I seen the highlights I was expecting a scruffy hit from Slozbalai and McGinn with a Ronnie Rosenthal type miss.

That's worse, listened to the 3 nil defeat at Wolves last year. Should have been 8 nil to us according to them.
