PLATINUM ONE, Ireland’s premier sports management company, is pleased to announce that it has been appointed by Real Madrid C.F. as its Official Pre Season Partner for its 2009/2010 preseason training programme which will be held in Ireland this July. Discussions between the two parties began in November when officials from Real Madrid C.F. visited Scotland and Ireland with PLATINUM ONE. Within the past few weeks negotiations for the ten day visit of the world’s biggest football club were concluded in Madrid. The preseason programme, which will involve the full senior squad under new 1st team coach, Manuel Pellegrini, will take place at Carton House, Maynooth, Co. Kildare from July 13th to 22nd. PLATINUM ONE has a growing reputation in this important field in the provision of services to Europe’s top football clubs and in 2007 and 2008 managed the preseason programme of FC Barcelona in Scotland. Real Madrid will play one match in Ireland as part of the training programme. Details of the game will be announced next week. http://platinumonegroup.com/PLATINUM_ONE_BRINGS_REAL_MADRID_TO_IRELAND/Default.638.html There set to play Shamrock Rovers in their new stadium in Tallaght. Set to be sell out no doubt considering they sold out every home game so far due to demand for season tickets. Full Real squad due also. I would proudly wear my Shelbourne jersey to this....hate both Rovers and Real but still cant deny the class that Real have
http://www.irishtimes.com/newspaper/sport/2009/0612/1224248687756.html ASSUMING HIS transfer to Real Madrid is completed over the next few days, Ronaldo will be on course to make his debut for the Spanish giants against Shamrock Rovers in Tallaght on July 20th with the game due to be confirmed next week. Real had been lined up some time ago to visit Ireland over the summer, with the La Liga side due to be based at Carton House in Co Kildare. The deal always involved them playing a friendly game here and for a while it was expected to be against Limerick at Thomond Park. That was ruled out for a number of reasons, including the Spaniards’ reluctance to travel for the game, and so Shamrock Rovers have come into the frame although the fact that their South Dublin County Council-owned home is still being constructed presents some difficulties ahead of such a high profile game. At present there are only around 3,000 seats in place in the stadium with the same again likely to be installed by August. The stand currently being built is not expected to be in place by the time Real come to town, however, and so the plan is to install around 6,600 temporary seats, bringing the capacity for the game to some 9,600. The figure would probably be higher but for the construction work on the permanent spectator facilities. Aside from Ronaldo, Kaka would be expected to feature in the Real squad for the trip as the club has been contracted to bring all available first team squad players. Valencia striker David Villa, who is also expected to sign for the club over the coming weeks, would be another of the new wave of Galácticos due to make their debuts in Dublin if his transfer goes through. The club, of course, has a fairly decent stock of international stars to start with with former Manchester United players Ruud van Nistelrooy and Gabriel Heinze likely to feature, along with Spanish internationals Iker Casillas, Michael Salgado and Raul. The trip to Ireland is being organised by Platinum One, the sports agency that has, in addition to representing players, organised a number of international club exhibition tournaments, overseen Barcelona’ visit to Scotland two years ago and put forward a proposal for an All-Ireland football league which was shot down by the FAI. Real’s players, who only gather for pre-season training three days before travelling to Ireland on July 13th, will have around a dozen training sessions during their stay here and many of these could be open to the public although it is not yet clear what, if any, admission might be charged. The trip is expected to attract the attention of up to 100 journalists and a wide range of international media outlets while the game is likely to be broadcast live back in Spain. It will be Real’s first visit to Ireland since they took on Limerick in a European Cup tie almost 29 years ago. On that occasion, the Irish club chose to move the game to Lansdowne Road in the hope of benefiting from a bigger payday but the attendance was poor.
Will it be possible to see them train? Ill be off for some of the time they're here, so wouldn't mind seeing them train.
From what i have heard if the game is confimred, the rovers season ticket holders and members will get first option, if that is the case there will be very few left to go on general sale!
This should be in croke park, it would prob sell out. Help madrid pay off some of those transfer fees
Obviously Id be wearing a t-shirt with this written on it while doing my pelvic thrusts with Ronaldo.
I heard them talking about this on the radio and just beware that Kaka or any other Brazilian or Spanish players in their squad are unlikely to be there. The Spanish & Brazilian players in their squad will be given extra time off following their participation in the confederations cup so are unlikely to be involved.
Not to mention the FAI suits out "doing there bit for the LOI" Will be touts paradise, can see tickets being golddust Love to see Ladyboy get tackled unended by one of the horse's near the Tallaght Stadium
Platinum one are organising this with the SDCC, not Rovers. So no-one knows the exact details reguarding tickets. More than likely members and season ticket holders will get first dibbs but I can almost gaurantee the temporary/permanent stands the council have been blocking us putting in will miraculously appear the week before the game. It's also possible that some of the second stand might be ready by then.
Just contacted Rovers as I have family ticket for the kids and nothing 100% confirmed but to keep an eye out!! Tickets will go to season ticket holders and members first! They probably will do this in a 2 match special with the Hib's game. Cant see many of the stars getting a run but you dont know? would love to see Ronaldo gettin a roastin, it'll be good for the kids to see all these guys if they know who they are?
lads from what i hear the new stand will be well in place for the game, plus they will also have temporary seats behind both goals, rumour has it,that tickets could cost 50 quid for non members/season ticket holders
The second stand is not due for completion until August 20th, but as I said earlier I reckon the SDCC will ignore the health and safety sh*te they have been pulling and allow the temporary/permanent stands. A section or two of the new stand may be ready aswell.
