dont know why its taken so long for this thread :) im hoping for a good game to wrap up the home season and the crowd will show the players how much we still support them. as for the team, its anyones guess how it will turn out but hopefully it will be a mixture of youth and experience. we should see Insua, any others?

if anything, we got to see the new shirts today. wouldnt mind getting reinas long sleeve black jersey.

as for the game, sky were more than right to say that we should have finished them off long before the final whistle. how kuyt didnt score, ill never know, so unlucky.

babel looked promising but the end product still aint there. insua looked very comfortable although he will see tougher tests than today. torres got into it well in the second half and roasted dunne at times. nice goal too. masch was his usual self. no crouch on the bench? voronin coming on for gerrard makes me angry though gerrard was a bit greedy in the second half, he dearly wanted to score in front of the kop.

The interest in this thread sums it up - quiet end to the season.

    Sad really

    tis quiet alright!
commentator just meant he wasnt on the bench. why, i dont know. how voronin can make it ahead of him is mindboggling.

The Main reason for Voronin being on the bench and crouch not is cos Crouch will be moving on in the Summer:mad::mad: He knows he is good enough to make it in any team but doesnt seem to impress rafa to much dont get me wrong i want the big man to stay but he has to think of his own career and with thr world cup 2 years away sitting on the bench in Anfeild wont get him selected for it. Voronin on the other hand is happy to just get paid and will keep his mouth shut until Rafa finally figures out he is a waster. Regarding the Match it was a typical end of season clash neither team really expressing themselves, Couple of players stood out for me Babel was very lively Masch his usual self Torres well Torres was just Torres class at times.

Roll on the summer spending spree :rolleyes::D:D

That would be some conversation in that taxi wouldnt it can just imagine

TaxiMan: Howya lads where you off too

Kewell: Anywhere that will pay me 40 grand a week or more to sit at home and pretend to be injured while filming MTV Cribs i will also paly the first half of any final be too tired for the 2nd half.

Risse: As far away from anfield as possible for me before i get lynched

Voronin: Goddison Park for me Please

    :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

i dont care if crouch is moving on, he still deserves to be on the bench at the Least! on a lighter note, hamann got some reception, comparable to when torres got the goal even!

That game was far too easy today.... and yet we still made hard work of it - only 1 goal when we should have had 4 or 5!
at least Insua started and seemed quite comfortable...
pity Nemeth and 1 or 2 of the others didnt get a run!

cant wait to see the back of Voronin - every time he got a touch or two he seemed to make it look so hard!

I wouldn't be so confident that we will be seeing the back of Voronin any time soon!
I thought we controlled everything quite well but we were still lacking that second goal that would have killed the game off. Despite that I still think that everyone played quite well and Babel looked very threatening and insua slotted into the team so comfortably.

Impressed with Insua. He has a bit of presence about him and is good on the ball. Woeful miss from Babel, but he played fairly well. Typical end of season game, could have been a draw easily though (Elano Free Kick).

Was Crouch even there with players on the pitch at the end?

No crouch, riise or pennant there yesterday, all 3 will be gone even though Crouch didnt deserve the treatment he has received from Rafa

Thought we looked really good in the second half. After being disappointed with seeing Yossi live, I thought he had a good impact against city.
Guess it reinforces the point that he does better against teams otside th etop bracket where the physicallity isnt as much of a factor.

:) Had my 7 year grandson over for the match. The look on his face when his new hero scored (Gerrard is dumped), made an ordinary match into one ill never forget.

Impressed by Insua, strong in the tackle and good with the ball going forward.Good to see Reina keep another clean sheet. Besides that typical end of season game.
