these 2 players are probably known as two of the greatest players of all time.... im jus wonderin who do u tink was better or if u tink someone else was better feel free 2 say so? in my opinion pele was better....
You cant really say, because they played in different positions,. No one will ever score as many goals as Pele, and Maradona was a genius, so was Zidane and Van Basten and Cruyff, aswel as Beckenbauer, each masters of their positions, and now we have Messi,.
Never saw Pele play much so can't really compare the two and give a fair assessment as to who was better. Someone made a point to me before though that Pele was in an amazing Brazil team when they won the World Cup while Maradona practically carried an Argentinian team on his own to win the tournament in 86'. Also bear in mind that Maradona led an unfancied Napoli side to the major success when he joined them. On a sidenote, I've seen Pele's list of the '125 Greatest Living Players' and he had beauts like Hidetoshi Nakata, Jay-Jay Okocha and fooking El Hadji Diouf of all people Maradona meanwhile has made Tommy the captain of Argentina so I know which player is the better lad at judging his peers.
purely from watching maradona live on tv in 86 i'd say he has to be the best , never seen pele on tv when i was growing up just little clips , Daglish would run the 2 of them close in my opinion.
Don't think so Daz, he picked 125 players from 37 countries - ended up with 25 players from Brazil/Argentina, about the same number from Holland/Italy and Germany/France. Definitley a list of what he thought were the 125 best players on the planet. I don't care what anyone says, anybody who puts Diouf in that list deserves to get their head checked out.
Maradona by a country mile I know its all about opinions but this 1 isnt even close,he won a world cup on his own and all he done for Napoli. Then Zidane in 2nd with Cryuff 3rd.Pele obviously an outstanding player,but a player who always played in great Brazilian teams so played with better players than Maradona did so that made his life easier. Another point Maradona Zidane and Cruyff all played at the highest level in European football while Pele never did.
Maradona for me but have only seen videos of Pele. Zidane's the best I've seen since but Messi is starting to rival him
He had to pick players from every corner of the planet, sure there is even a girl on it,. So FIFA would endorse it, so they could say its fair and politically correct,. there are a lot of players who should be on that list and a lot that shouldn't,. So I wouldn't blame Pele!
