Reading have denied receiving a bid from Liverpool for goalkeeper Adam Federici. Federici, who helped Reading knock Liverpool out of the FA Cup following a stunning win at Anfield on Wednesday night, has been mooted as a possible transfer target for Rafa Benitez. The Australian's father recently hinted that Liverpool had made contact about bringing the keeper to Anfield as back up to Pepe Reina. However, Reading director of football Nick Hammond has moved to play down the rumours and insists they have not had any contact with Liverpool about Federici. "I think Adam has done exceptionally well since the difficult transition from number two to number one," Hammond told the Reading Chronicle. "But we've had no contact from anyone regarding him. "We have a big squad and the pressure remains in terms of balancing the books. "The key is keeping the players who are integral to us moving forward. If we trade it will be on our terms."
what are we doing bidding for players we don't need? That's if there has been a bid Get some strikers or new left back would be a lot higher up my list.
I would prefer us to go for the winger mcanuff or the lad up front Church if the club were goin for anyone from them
He played well over the 2 legs in fairness to him, good shop window last night for the likes of him, Long, Church and McAnuff.
we don't ****ing need back up goalkeepers as a matter of priority. can you sort out the other positions please Rafa
In Fairness just because it was in some paper does not mean it is anywhere near true, it could be something as simple as his aul fellw spewing to try get him a better contract or more money, so throw Liverpools name in to get publicity !
Didn he write to a load of league clubs asking for a trial. He spent awhile backpacking around europe too going to club to club on trial and finally Reading gave him a chance because the bald guy( cant think of his name, at wolves now) went out injured. They gave him a contract after that then
