theres obviously different levels of fan in terms of their interest in a team or football in general.i know a good few,not just liverpool fans mind you so im not digging at our own, that obviously only support a team as an excuse to get to the pub for pints.your going to get that with every team and its more noticeable here in ireland because regardless of if ya organise it yourself or use a travel tout actually going over takes time and effort to arrange and a few bob ya could spend in your local too. obviously that level of commitment will reflect on to peoples attitude towards the owners,i mean if ya only follow liverpool to get out for pints or cos theres nothing on the box you wont be too bothered once its full time.what we need to do is let these people know the story and try to bring them in so everyone stands together not bickering like does go on.that will mean well never get the club back
If you want yeah, I was not having a go at you boss i just dont recall all these comments off the top of my head!
I would say the Yanks would give up and sell to highest bidder. In their strategy of business buyouts, they target business with loyal customers. No loyal customers = no profit and I think they would sell up before it got to leeds situation.
Oh I know you're not having a go Gerry, you don't want me to be making unsubstantiated claims and that's fair enough with me. I've seen it and I'm sure I will again.
Just slightly off topic but a related issue. I was having a pint on Friday with a mate who is a Man Utd fan and cant remember exactly what was said but he said something about how bad Liverpool's finances were and I pointed out Utd's are similar if not worse. His next line was pure class he said ' I know the finances aren't great and the fans are having some protest at games wearing the Norwich colours and all ' ha ha ha quality
I do understand your point. It has been made before, and it's a fair enough issue. I don't want too end up in a 'Leeds situation'. I would be surprised if even those that are against the boycotts & other actions really believe that that is what the protestors want. However, I firmly believe that we are on the road to a departure from the club we know and love. I firmly believe that the yanks will bleed us dry and will take every penny out of the club that they can. There are more ways to asset strip than a firesale. This season again we saw another transfer season 'profit'. they are turning a profit with any chance they can get. I would not be overly happy with this even if the cash was going straight back into the club, for it's welfare. But it is going into interest and late payment fees. The only analogy I can really relate this to would be the family pet. If you were watching it go through a long degenerative illness, and yet there was a chance there was experimental surgery that may save it and bring it back to it's former level of health rather than sit and watch it pass in front of your eyes, which would you do? If that surgery could possibly hasten the demise, would you still do it? I personally believe the club is in jeopardy. I do not believe in sitting by and watching it get sicker and sicker. I think we are already on the road to a 'Leeds situation' (possibly not the same outcome - could be better, or worse), but I think it is incumbent on all supporters to do what they can to prevent that from happening. I think personally, all I can do is refuse to travel across, refuse to buy the gear and try and tell as many as possible why. If someone can explain a better method of getting rid and gtting the club I love back on track, I am open to listening to them. I may not agree with them. I'll certainly never consider them better/worse fans for their opinion on matters. I also will not accept that I am wrong to fight in the only way I believe will help the club. To hopefully answer your question directly - I would hope that if a sizeable enough number of people joined in, we could show the current owners that the longer they stay, the more they will lose and they would sell for a lower than price than their expectation. The lower they eventually sell, the more possibility we have of whoever our new owner is will have left over in their coffers to invest in the club and get us back on track.
cant have it both ways, as was said there in the vast majority and either arent aware or dont care. as for your mate, my mate has recenly bought the new home and away jerseys and although iv told him ages ago and recently i still wont be buying anything, im not going to lecture someone on how they spend their money. if it was me about something else id tell him were to go
it beats me how some people seem to know whats going on behind closed doors at lfc we are supporters and as such love lfc. as suporters who want nothing but the best for our wonderful football club all the bickering and back biting wont change a single jot at anfield boycotting protest argue all ye want it wont change the fact lfc is in dire financial straits no matter who thinks they know what is going on at anfield or what a real suporter is or isnt everyone has the right to there un hindered opinion lets face it in my humble opinion the more people boycot lfc games and goods the more of the squad will be sold to replace the lost revenue \yank basta.ds out
i wanna be in that number when the reds go marching in... recognise that lads?? you'll never walk alone??you dont have to have a massive program collection to support liverpool fc..so what if fans spout out rubbish there isnt a pc way of supporting a football team,i dont give a monkeys what shirt or scarfe fans have as long as there supportin the same team as us !! let them be,,we all have opinions of formations, transfers etc thats part of the match day banter,i dont go to pubs to watch football so much any more just due to getting the time but if i see a fellow red i give a nod or a alrite mate, nice one fella's..... and who was the supporter speaking on the carra video? was it a IK poster?? if so nice one the pool is well suported over here for what ever reason people decide to choose us over any one else i want to be in that number YNWA
some of these comments are like who is a bigger liverpool fan.why dont people forget the idiots and just follow the club.
TBH I've seen a lot of comments referring to comments about who is the bigger fan, and yet I don't think I've seen any that says someone is more or less of a fan for X, Y or Z reason. Personally I'd love to 'forget the idiots' (assuming you are referring to the poisonous snakes of owners) but I can't as I believe if we forget about them and laeve them too it they will destroy our club. Frankly missing a few games and getting involved in the protest, I think, is worth it if it helps in any way to get teh club back into reasonable shape. Which I believe it will.
id agree with ya.i meant the langers who are talkin shit in pubs about the club.but we do need to protest about the owners.im not travelling this year and i havent bought any thing either.god is good that will change after the october deadline!
