seriously, alota the argie footballers have no loyalty, & are not the nicest people in the world..
In fact read the Lonely Planet (& they avoid direct personal remarks) guide to Argentina & they say alota argie people have a chip on they're shoulder with an 'ungrateful attitude' & this was the vibe I picked up whilst there.....may explain why mash has been a COMPLETE WAN*ER !

    CARRA DISAPPOINTED WITH MASCHERANO
    Posted 03/09/10 12:20EmailPrintSave

Barclays Premier League. Click here to bet.
Jamie Carragher believes former Liverpool midfielder Javier Mascherano "let himself down badly" by not playing against Manchester City.

The Argentina international's three-year stay at Anfield came to an end last week when he secured a big-money move to Barcelona.

But rather than receive a fitting farewell from the Liverpool supporters, Mascherano left the club in acrimonious circumstances.

Reports suggested that he refused to play in the 3-0 defeat to Manchester City, which would have turned out to be his final game for the Reds.

Mascherano later denied the claims, insisting that he had spoken to manager Roy Hodgson and they both agreed he was not 'right to play'.

Carragher nevertheless believes his former team-mate will have regrets about the way his exit from Liverpool came about.

"Mascherano was great for Liverpool for three or four years and it was a privilege to play with him," said the defender.

"But he let himself down badly and that left a bad taste in the mouth.

"If he'd played in that match he would have got a great send-off and it all would have been fine.

"But he ruined that and I think he'll regret it."

    Childish but ... :p

Javier Mascherano admits he needs to adapt to Spanish football after enduring a disastrous debut for Barcelona.
The Argentine left Liverpool for the Nou Camp in a £22m deal last month but was substituted at half-time in Barca's shock 2-0 home defeat to Hercules on Saturday. And Mascherano admits he needs to get used to Spanish football - and their referees.

"It wasn't a good debut, and I need to adapt to the league - not the league to me," he said.
"The referees are different to here than in England as well," he complained

Just seen a story on SSN saying that Masch's reason for leaving was because of lack of investment from Hicks and Gillett. It's got quotes from The Rag, haven't read the whole article because I didn't bother once I seen the source, surely he hasn't been that stupid..........

the SSN article suggests the previous owners were the reason he left. the cynic in me thinks its a ploy to regain the respect of our supporters. never liked him as a player-don't like him as a man. with Xavi out injured for Barcelona he has been found wanting in the midfield, in terms of creativity.

Cant blame any player leaving because of the 2 previous owners, they ruined us... How he left is a hot topic.

As a player, Mash was immense for us. If he was playing for us we'd have conceded nowhere near the amount we have done so far this season.
And we all know he isn't the most creative player, he was brought to Barca to replace Toure, who was a destroyer first and foremost, which is what Mash is.
