don't ever compare the great man with that wanker from portugal , it's getting really silly in here right now with all these comments
We can't afford Mourinho. He's a tosser-fcuking "I'm the special one","the best team lost","We lost a game with no goals",Ssssshhhh-ing our fans in Cardiff, bum chums with Ferguson. He's only ever won titles with teams who had more money than anyone else in the division. He's a mercenary-if things went tits up or he got bored,he's got no loyalty and would fcuk off without a care in the world after a couple of seasons. Major no-no for me personally. The only managers I'd put near the same bracket as Rafa in terms of their pedigree and calibre are; Ferguson-Never going to happen. Wenger-Never going to happen. Mourinho-See above. Ancelotti-Not going to happen. Lippi-Not going to happen. Hiddink-good friends with abramovic, just took on a new international project, too old for another 5 year plan. Guardiola-not going to happen. We already have a top coach.Let's at least wait til the summer before talking about replacements shall we.
Oh dear......I read that as "The travispickle8 one thinks the car park fella speaks a lot of sense" and I was wondering wtf you were on about for about 2 minutes Time for bed I think.
Im not nit-picking, just seen this as I was reading back.... If Rafa is to leave by me, the reason is because I cannot see us ever winning the league title under him. If Im happy with just CL football and the odd title race here and there, than he's the man alright. But my stance is clear, I dont see him winning the league for us, which is what he was brought to Anfield to do. And the CL every season thingy aint gonna happen next year by the looks of it either.
man hes not as great as everyone thinks, my granny could have had that success with the team they had last year, and had whiskey nose had the balls to attack them in the cl final they would have been hockeyd
Thats fair enough.Wasn't sure whether or not to include him-thats why he's down the very bottom.5 trophies in one season is hard to argue with but in fairness he hasnt been tested with building his own team, working within a budget etc so you're right-he doesnt yet deserve to be put in the same bracket as the above.
Mourinho is a class act, He detracts attention from his teams, takes pressure off them and takes it on himself. He is a winner, and he isn't afraid to mix things up, he has often made early subs if things aren't working, or switched all 3 in one go. The man is a winner, yes he's had cash but that doesn't guarantee anything, it takes a mixture of tactical knowhow and bravery along with a decent slice of luck to be successful. His teams would run through brick Walls for him. If Rafa does go, I for one would love to see José come in and show us what he can do on a shoe string and restore some much needed pride.
There is alot of rubbish been put about in this thread...Lists of managers replacing OUR manager when he is still clearly in a job with Liverpool Fc.I think alot of people here are dropping to the Level of Hicks and Gillet, by talking about his replacement, when in actually fact the man is still in employment with the club.Hicks and Gillet done that with Klinsmann going behind Rafa's back, and some people here are in a similar way doing the same, already thinking about who his replacement might be,should be, or who they want to be. Every one is entitled to their opinion.I have no problem with that. But people who sit behind a laptop screen in forums and messages boards belittling a man who is the most successful Spainish manager in a long time(I have not going to go into his achievements), who if you asked any person to name a spainish manager,i bet his name is the first to pop up..Whether you like Rafa or not is your opinion, but with out this man we would not have had 5 European Cups in our Trophy room today..We would not have had another FA Cup day out.We would not have run so close last season.. Some people will say Rafa is not the man behind the success, that Gerrard,Torres,Carra or even the Kit man mastermind it, but in actually fact it was a combination of everyone.Rafa has turned this club around whether you like it or not, and has improved the whole set up. Im a not Rafa's biggest fan in the world, but i will support who ever is in the dugout on a saturday afternoon. So my ask for the remainder of the games, is show this man some respect, or else take the other path and go the way Hicks and Gillet went by back stabbing him.It is the least this man deserves, afer all the Highs he has brought this club over the past 5 or so years.
maybe an up and coming coach, with a lesser name. someone with something to prove. gary neville has gotten his badges hasn't he ???
I would have to agree with those on here when they say he deserves our respect, and indeed gratitude. I for one am very greatful for the memories he has given us over the last five or six years..................Istanbul, cardiff, countless great European nights not to mention finally gettin the better of the Scum last season!! BUT at the end of the day he was brought in to win the league, and if you take last season out of the equation (where most people would admit we over-achieved!!) we are still no closer to winning it than we were 5/6 years ago!! If anything, on this season's showing, we've gone backwards!! Rafa won the CL in his first season with a team, which by his own admission, was a "Houiler team" and he talked about how it would take 5 years (anybody remember Houlier sayin something similar when he took over???) before we saw a "Rafa team"!! So we now we have that "rafa team" playing a "Rafa system" and employing "Rafa tactics" and its so poor that while i still support the team i really dont know if i will even watch the game tonight, and after following Liverpool for 20 odd years thats the first time I have ever found myself saying that and i have to say it saddens me to say it!! But I just find myself gettin angry and depressed watching them!! Its just so negative, boring and defensive!! I cant remember a time when the performances have CONSISTENTLY been so poor!!
the last 6-8 months of houllier's reign were pretty muck too - and a lot of that was coz the players (and most of the fans) had lost faith in houllier and he had clearly lost the dressing room too. as ive said before, the parallels between this season and the last 1-2 seasons of houlliers reign are startling. houllier came 2nd to teh invincibles and was thought to be just a 'few players' away from winning the league. unfortuantely he had a disaster in the transfer market and 2 yrs later we're 20-30 pts away from the title as our rivals pull farther away from us. its kinda similar now...altho i know the yanx and the alonso situation have a lot to do with things as well. its sad coz a lot of the optimism from Istanbul and last season has evaporated and we now see a 'rafa team' and what it has to offer...and he had every top star fit for the wigan match and i reckon we failed to make the keeper make one save. the mood is similar to back in 03/04. sometimes you just need a change to get the best outta the personnell - a new slant on things or trying something new in training etc. in fairness i think the players have to shoulder a lot of the blame - but players can force a manager out just as quick as fans by just not playing for him...i think the chavs did that with scolari to a point. its a lot easier for a chairman to sack one manager than to dum 12-15 players coz their attitude stinks. thats the reality of it
ANd Rafa never mocks teams who beat us? He was chelsea manager then so of course he would say things positive about them and negative about us, its not too hard to figure that out. I cant ell you, if he came and we began winnninng trophies right left and centre a lot of people would quickly forget their "hatred" for him.
We are not dropping to the level of Gillet and Hicks, we are merely fans having a conversation, we are not owners of the club and doing real business behind peoples backs. We are fans having a discussion and debate on a forum, a place for discussion and debate. Its not like the press are gonna get wind of this thread and post it all over the back pages!!
Would hate to see Mourinho at our club. Anyone who calls himself the special one is a tool. He always needs to be the center of attention and has no class. Although cash might not guarantee anything it certainly helps. If Rafa did leave my choice would be Capello. He is a winner and always acts in a dignified way.
