http://nqfuryfcthejournal.blogspot.com/2009/07/news-robbie-fowler-distraught.html Mixing & mingling with fans at yesterday afternoons Fury family fun day Robbie Fowler revealed his frustration at being sidelined during the clubs pre-season with groin & hip injuries that now appear likely to keep the icon out of next week’s trip for a double header of matches in Perth. If the medical staff get their way Fowler who is desperate to return & debut on the field for his new club would make his long awaited comeback against Brisbane Roar (The clubs final trial) in Townsville on July 26th with Fowler also emphatically expressing that he would be distraught if he was forced to miss the clubs opening A-League fixture also in Townsville against Sydney FC on August 8th - hence managing his injury concerns so carefully. However in what is good news Fowler has recently stepped up his training ahead of any comeback & does have some chance of featuring in Perth. Fowler also debunked as myth that he will never play a game for the club & brushed off the gossip as nothing more than scurrilous rumour mongering. The Fury talisman known as God then reinforced his well trodden mantra that ‘I'm not here for a holiday.’ Robbie then continued… "You just can't put it into words how frustrating it is because it's not nice, "Any player will tell you that you go into any club and want to be firing on all cylinders straight away, you want to be involved in training, you want to be involved in games. "Unfortunately I have had a bit of a niggle and it's just so frustrating. You want to go out and play straight away, but sometimes it's not possible. "I have come here and I want to enjoy my football and I want to play as much as anyone, but certain things dictate that sometimes you can't play. "I'm prepared to work hard and get on that pitch, I'm not just here to enjoy the sun, it's pride in myself." Fowler than explained that he would love nothing more than to be running out with his team mates over the July 15th & 18th double header in Perth but any final decision is really out of his hands & that his fitness along with his availability for the clubs inaugural A-League season kick off is a priority for both the club & the individual… "I'm happy with the way things are developing so far and fingers crossed I don't have any setbacks, because if it was up to me, I'd be playing tomorrow, "But I'm gauging from other people who are looking at things in the long term. "I want to be right before I start getting involved in games because if I'm going in and I'm not 100 per cent, then I'm leaving myself open for setbacks and I don't want that." And on that August the 8th date with Sydney FC Fowler closed by stating… "I have every confidence. It's about five weeks (the A-League season), I would be very, very disappointed if I'm not (playing in that match)." ............................................................................................. Would love to be still over there to see robbie banging in a few goals for North Queensland Fury...He's become their Marquee Player when he signed for them in Febraury.. Will be keeping a eye out for this legend on a regualar basis..
And there's the difference between Robbie Fowler and the runt. God wants to play football at whatever club he's with and give his all, the runt is a prostitute who whores himself around looking for the most dosh based on way, way past glories. I wish nothing but the best for Robbie in his endevours to keep playing, equally, I wish nothing but ill felling and absolute vehoment hatred and disgust towards the runt. Die you little scumbag cnut!!
Going to Keep track off Robbie over there as he was one of my hero's... There season doesnt start till August...
Something to clear up these reports about God The Townsville Bulletin’s Antony Stewart penned a piece regarding Robbie Fowlers injury frustration on Monday July 6th & via a bit of mischief, lack of communication, sloppiness (we really don’t know) the whole thing has been turned on its head & become an internationally published piece that claims Fowler is basically no chance of fronting up on August the 8th for Fury’s Maiden A-league match in Townsville against Sydney FC Well somebody has to douse this Fowler fire & it may as well be us. If any of these publication's had bothered to type Townsville Bulletin into Google & clicked on sport they would have got the full story rather than the couple of paragraphs Sporting life bothered to sensationalize out of context that have now caught the imagination of many media outlets, who of course also followed suit & while referencing the Bulletin as the source obviously didn’t actually go back & read the full Monty. The story run by the Bully that the Journal also covered had no direct reference at all to Fowler actually missing the A-League opener with any talk or context of such followed by a big IF & actually proceeded Fowler having half an eye on playing in Perth next week & the medical staff preferring he make his debut a week later in the clubs final pre-season trial in Townsville against Brisbane Roar on July 26th, along with Fowler conceding that he has stepped up training but been wrapped in cotton wool recently as any setbacks could hinder his progress & that he would be 'distraught' to miss the club's A-League debut. Not that he is actually going to miss the match, is in any real danger (as yet, this could change of course we do concede that) of missing the match & with the true context of him missing the match being hypothetical. However if you now read the many articles that have butchered Antony Stewart's original piece you will read that Fowler is now likely to miss the A-league opener! Talk about spin & the fact they all quote the original Bully source but go on with the rubbish they have proves nobody actually bothered to read the original piece & simply jumped on the bandwagon in what has been a slow off season week for news both here & in the UK. The Fury club & its supporters have every right to feel frustrated in this instance. All we ask for is a bit of balance & understand their need to sell copy, get clicks for advertising revenue etc, but c’mon folks lets run the full story if nothing for the sake of professional integrity & if the Journal can check, double check sources before publishing anything with a huge budget of Nothing - Then surely these so called Pros can ? Cant they ? Is it any wonder there’s a conspiracy theory floating about regarding certain elements of Australian football waiting in angst & desperately hoping that Fury goes belly up ? God's Opinions.. ROBBIE FOWLER wished his old Anfield team-mate well last night, but the Liverpool hero admitted he could never have made the same decision as Michael Owen. Owen was unveiled as Old Trafford’s new number seven yesterday. But, speaking from Australia, where he is hoping to make a long-awaited debut for Queensland Fury tomorrow, Fowler was asked if he could ever have joined Manchester United. “No, I don’t think so,†he declared. With both England and Australia in Ashes frenzy, it was only fitting that Fowler should try to straight-bat questions about his former Liverpool partner’s controversial decision. But like far too many of England’s top order, his best efforts came up short. Fowler joined Australian side North Queensland Fury in February and after three months battling hip and groin injuries, the one-time Kop idol will get his first run-out with the A-League side in Perth tomorrow against Premier League newcomers Wolves. But while happy to wish Owen all the best on a personal level, the man they called ‘God’ was yesterday reluctant to extend the goodwill. “Obviously I want Michael to do well but I don’t want Manchester United to do well,†said Fowler, who used to taunt United fans by signalling Liverpool’s superior European Cup tally to their bitter rivals whenever he scored against them. “It’s a sticky situation and I don’t want to get drawn into things with Michael and Man United. Everyone knows I’m a Liverpool fan,†he added. “But if Michael scores a lot of goals then I hope Fernando Torres scores a lot more.†United boss Sir Alex Ferguson was once a big admirer of Fowler’s predatory instincts which saw him score more than 200 Premier League goals. But asked if he could have made a similar move to Owen, the striker said: “No, I don’t think so. “I don’t want to go down that route as I leave myself open to criticism but Michael has done what he’s done and it’s not for me to judge what he should do or shouldn’t do. He’s a big lad. “His record over the years has been fantastic. Again, I hope he scores a few goals but I hope they concede more.†Fowler has been linked with another of his former team-mates, new Tranmere boss John Barnes, but he again dismissed talk of a move back to Merseyside. “If people want to write stories that’s nothing to do with me,†he said. “The good thing is I quashed it straight away so it showed what my intentions were. Hopefully I’ve put a lot of things to bed.†Townsville-based Fury, managed by former Rangers great Ian Ferguson, signed Fowler as their marquee player and he is one of the biggest names to join the A-League, which begins its fifth season next month. And Fowler says is keen to make his mark. “The last few months have been horrible,†he said. “In terms of kicking balls I’ve not been able to do that, so hopefully there is a bit of light at the end of the tunnel and I’ve got something to look forward to.†http://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/live...-man-utd-like-michael-owen-100252-24148185/2/ ............................................................. And this is why he will always be considerd a legend at Liverpool..
Gods First Game http://au.fourfourtwo.com/news/107750,wolves-too-good-for-fury.aspx Jul 15 2009 21:31 FURY marquee star Robbie Fowler got his first goal in his first appearance for his North Queensland side in the 2-1 defeat against Wolverhampton Wanderers. Coming on in the 54th minute, Fowler looked untroubled by the hip and groin injuries that have plagued his pre-season so far, the Liverpool legend making no mistake from the spot as he converted a 67th minute penalty. Wolves, though, opened the scoring in their second Australian match through Andy Keogh in the second minute, before giving up a host of chances throughout the first half. Fowler's entry brought the match to life though. Despite appearing a little rusty, he soon justified his marquee status when he buried the spot kick after Wolves captain Jody Craddock crudely brought down Jeremy Brockie in the area. But Craddock atoned for his error just seven minutes later, the towering defender getting on the end of a quality corner from Andrew Surman, his close-range header bundled over the line with a few deflections along the way. North Queensland's luck seemed to be in within the first minute when a powerful back pass by Wolverhampton crashed into Daniel McBreen's back, forcing Wolves' stopper Carl Ikeme into a hasty save. But, just as they did against the Glory, the Premiership club opened the scoring in the second minute, Irishman Keogh being in the right place to fire home from close range after a shot by Sam Vokes was parried into his path. Keogh had been unlucky not to score against Perth last Friday but he seemed intent on making up for this as he forced a save from Fury stopper Paul Henderson in the 11th minute. Three minutes later, the Wolves' defence was prised apart, a quality header from Jason Spagnulo releasing Robbie Middleby, whose effort forced another save from Ikeme. New Wolves' signings Greg Halford and the impressive Nenad Milijas both forced saves from Henderson with half-chances but that was as good as it got for Wolves as North Queensland started to take control of proceedings. Ten minutes before the break another good ball by Spagnulo released Freddy Agius on the left, the winger's cross just missing Middleby in the box, while Agius' free kick three minutes later went high and wide. Both sides made a host of changes at half-time and it was two of the incoming players that started causing problems, Surman forcing Henderson into a save with a shot on target before Matthew Jarvis's effort ricocheted around the North Queensland box. Fury striker Chris Grossman found himself on a fast break in the 48th minute but he fired his effort wide before Fowler's arrival for McBreen brought the crowd to life. The 35-year-old marked one of his first touches with a 35-metre effort that went well astray before Fowler's lay-off released Grossman, whose deflected shot was tipped around the post by Wolves' substitute stopper Wayne Hennessey. Seven minutes after the hour a great Fury cut-back from the goal-line saw Brockie take possession four metres out before being bundled over by Craddock, allowing Fowler to take his spot kick. But Wolves weren't to be denied as they upped the intensity, forcing a corner in the 73rd minute following a marauding run by Jarvis, who was well tackled in the area by Paul Kohler. From the Surman corner, Craddock rose to power the ball home, although it may have come off Richard Stearman's toe in a tangle of bodies on the line. Wolves could have extended the advantage as Halford produced the goods late in the match, the former Sunderland man sending in a beautiful through ball that Vokes fired over, before cutting the ball back in the 88th minute for a Sylvan Ebanks-Blake header that Henderson palmed to safety. ......................................................................... Delighted to see him score even if its from the penalty spot.
