consistent at fulham. thats his level. theres a reason he has always played for relegation candidate sides.
Would agree with all the above, the club was just too big for him. Wish him all the best whereever he goes especially if it true he is willing to take paycut to make the move happen, I understand why people question his ability but his character shouldnt be.
I'll fess up, I genuinely thought when we signed him that we could do worse. He'd been a solid performer (granted at the lower end of the premiership spectrum) and while I certainly wasnt expecting Maldini, I thought he'd do a job for us and give us a solid 7/10 more often than not. Looked alright for the first few games, and then he imploded. I remember saying to the lads watching a game (cant remember who it was) that he had a terrible habit of trying to turn opposing wingers at the edge of our box and if he got caught we would pay dear for it....then he got caught 3 times in the same game. He looked like a rabbit in the headlights forever after that. Think while things were going alright, HE was alright, but once he got found out,he discovered that while making mistakes at West Ham was par for the course at a team with no great aspirations but making mistakes at a genuinely big club where everything is under the microscope destroyed whatever confidence he had and he went in a downward spiral that he never recovered from. Happy to see him move on, and maybe get his career back on track. With the benefit of hindsight, the move was simply too big for him. Didnt help that his mother had the IQ about equal to the Live rock Tilly is looking to shift.
http://www.liverpoolfc.tv/news/latest-news/konchesky-sold-to-leicester as said above you mate confirmed by the club
Liverpool have today finalised a deal to sell Paul Konchesky to Leicester City. The 30-year-old, who played 18 games for the Reds, will now join the Championship outfit for pre-season.
Good luck,he was never anywhere near the standard required for a LFC player. He's a prime example of how things were over the last 3-4 years.
In all fairness to the lad he wasn't hard to ship out he's not about sitting on the bench and just taking the money he wants to play football that's why he went on loan to forest and now to svens men good luck to him
I have to say I never thought he would be hard to shift, whatever about his ability and his ma, he always seemed more of a victim of the previous regime than anyone else, he's certainly less deserving than Joe Cole. Fair enough he is shite but some of the abuse bordered on personal, best of luck to him at Leiceister.
I may crack open a bottle of Champagne over this Very happy with how this transfer window is shaping up.
That leave us with fabio,Insua and robbo at left back probably in that order too and glen can do a job there but we need to bring in a quality left back and move fabio and Insua on too
I second all that. We could get away with Glen and Robinson at LB but it's a position we should find a quality player for.
I'd keep Fabio, top class player and very versatile, loves the city adn the club and i'd imagine he is on relatively low wages after being resigned last season
