Thats thwe way to do it. He's been a quality player and as someone else said above what if he turns out to be a Morientes. He needs to be hungry to fight for a position, and if he does he could turn ou to be a good bit of Rafa business. Is this been spoken about, or is it on a wishlist with someone on the site?
Totally agree - he'd be streets ahead of anyone we have currently to play as the second striker and I would love to see him signed up - preferrably on loan until the summer but no problem on a permanent. He is slight in build but he's aggressive, make no bones about it - no problem leaving the foot in when he needs to, I wouldn;t have any fears of him not being able to look after himself That said I can't see this happening now as 1) it takes us forever to do a deal and we've got so little time left to make our move and 2) I believe he's recovering from an operation and is unavailable to play until March - I would guess if we were going to spend reasonable money they would need to be making a contribution straight away
judging from the speed parry usually negotiates transfer deals, we should have him for the start of the 2012/2013 season. Parry's a donkey - couldnt organise bingo in a retirement home, that dingbat
I was a big fan of his a few years back and he was one that I would have liked Rafa to have bought when he first arrived. Not sure if he is past his best but 28 is hardly old. Could be a great signing if he can recapture his old form.
i dunno lads id be a bit sceptical.....havent seen alot of him lately but thats only cos i hvaent heard of him alot namely due to poor form....we should have went all out to sign saviola last summer, now that would have been a decent signing to link up with torres.....
Good shout - I would love to see either of Aimar or Saviola playing just off Torres ..... mouthwatering On a side note, I think in a few years that Pacheco could be that player - have only seen glimpses of him in the youths / reserves but he looks special, even if only 16 years old
Id say Rafa just threw his name out fishing to see if any contact was made. It could be the best move for Aimar to re-find his form. If you remember some people were questioning Torres being signed as our main striker given he had gone off the boil in the season or two before his move as wasnt scoring regularly, this season he looks re-born and will probably set a personal best for goals in a season so there is no reason to think Aimar would be a flop. Not playing as an out and out front main like Morientes would help and he would do a job similar to Bergkamp did at the gooners. Id say maybe in the summer if he is not too expensive.
Just saw on the BBC website that fulhamsigned jari litmanen - surely this is a joke - the guy has to be 40+ at this stage - i know thats got sweet damn all to do with this debate but just thought i'd post it anymay. weird??
From the Guardian 3.05pm: The rumours are flying in. Theo Walcott and Pablo Aimar have been spotted at Anfield
bbc gossip column has someone texted in saying berbatov is at the mancs doing a medical and a fee of 32 mill has been agreed. What a load of BS
Henrik Larsson if we could make him 5/6 years younger he would be the best signing ever, him and Torres would be savage, ahhhhh its good to dream.
Why not go the whole hog and wish for Rushie and Kenny 25 years younger and have a wet one while your at it.
Again from bbc, 2151: "My mate is hanging round Anfield now and he just texted me claiming he has just seen Ricardo Quaresma get out of a taxi and get ushered into Anfield! He's not likely to make this up so massive coup for Liverpool if they pull it off." maverickcristianoVII on 606 Unlikely since porto are in the CL but heres hoping
