Seven lads involved in last title won and this one Allison Trent VVd Gomez Robbo Jones Salah Dunno why but assumed it was more. Kelleher was around but don’t think he played any minutes.
If Gomez is still with Liverpool on 20th June, he is at the club ten years, still only 27. Pity he has had so many injuries, great utility player if you could keep him fit.
I think the club gave him one as part of the allocation they get, does that count as winning a title though officially, presume it would
They deserve this league win so much!On a side note the odd time I see Jones name written down for a very split second I think Brad Jones? Which immediately takes me back to those dark days with him in our goal! Then the names fly at me at tremendous speed Hodgson, Poulson, Konchesky, Jovanovic, Cole etc Dire times
Have seen Carragher VD and Kenny all publicly call on FSG to give the manager the funds he needs to consolidate from a position of strength. Think everyone is conscious that we didn't do it the last time (although in fairness Covid had screwed everyone's finances). Also there has been a number of times in the past few seasons where we were prepared to spend big but ended up not for various reasons, mainly players turning us down/choosing other options (Bellingham, Caceido, Lavia, Zubimendi...) Hopefully we open the purse a bit now to help us stay on top.
Looking back over the two title wins, Mo is obviously the main star but the backbone of the success of the money invested in Alisson and VVD from sale of Coutinho. Aside from Jurgen, the most pivotable moment was after the Neymar Tranafer. Liverpool benefitted massively from it. That gave Barca stupid money to blow on Coutinho. I don’t think he was anywhere near that value but they had money to burn. They lads candidates for best Premier League players in history in their position. Had they been in the squad in 2009 and 2014, LFC would have walked the league both times. The key to sustaining success is finding the next 2 Difference makers. That was what Ferguson and United were able to constantly do (albeit with a lot of money) over 20 year period.
Was on the Sandon ticket waiting list for Palace trophy lift and got email saying we're in so happy with that
Walk on the pitch and get a photo taken with the trophy. Pricey though ... https://bookings.liverpoolfc.com/stadiumtours/booking/offers.htm
I actually think that is alright. When you said pricey I was expecting £500-£1000. I think I'd pay that.
Walking out onto the pitch would be a lovely experience and to see the PL Trophy, £25 for the normal tour so this is well within the allowable gouging prices that I would be happy to pay.
I'd pay that just to walk on the pitch. Stick a pair of sunglasses on, grab a cane, have your best mate as your PA and you both go in 2 for the price of 1. Or your kid instead of your bestie.
