Alisson does seem to be picking up a lot of niggles recently. Wonder could we see him leave next summer with Kelleher and the Georgia lad battling it out for no 1 spot.
Admittedly we are in the post win euphoric high but Lucy Ward tonight saud Martinez was the best goalkeeper in the world (to be fair I don't think she really means that but rather his 2 FIFA awards, which are as a nonsense as a concept), I would rate Kelleher above him. I honestly think he might be top 5 in the league. Primarily for on ball tbh
When you don't even notice the best goalkeeper in the world missing it shows your club is in safe hands
I think the Mamarfashvili signing shows that Allison is gone in the summer. It's an interstimg debate now as GM is potentially one of the best in the world as an old fashioned "shot stopper" but that's not what we really need. If I can call an us an elite team we need keepers who won't let us down in the BAU and be elite on the ball. And I think Kelleher and GM have inverse strengths in that regard. But maybe GM is better on the ball than we have seen and is just doing what Valencia/ Georgia are asking him to do. He has greater range than Kelleher for sure. I hope I'm wrong.
Kelleher very solid again however I think rest of the season Alisson is still worth 4-5 points at least. He makes saves in only the top 5 keepers in the world make.
Himself and Jake O'Brien. That O'Brien lad is an absolute unit. Kelleher doesn't look like a footballer, never mind a keeper.
First Irish player to win the Premier League since John O Shea and Darren Gibson in 2011. Played his part too.
£18m according to the Internet. Thought he’d be closer to £30m. Best of luck to him, couldn’t have asked for more from a backup keeper over the last few years. Hope he pushes on and nails down the #1 spot.
Sad to see him go but a great servant . Best of luck to him . His former club in Cork are in for a nice windfall. https://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/ca...Z-LSaaK56hvXCqgTia_aem_gpCLgSbmN9OfqU4CN1MGdg
