£15m for Babel - Take it or Leave it?

There has been plenty of speculation of late regarding the departure of Ryan Babel and Real have been linked with a £15m bid in January. Given that money is likely to be tight, do think Rafa should accept that offer if it was to come?

My view is that Babel hasn't really produced to date but has the potential to be an outstanding player. The problem is I dont think he'll get the chance to realise that potential under Rafa - He wont oust Torres up front, Riera is far better at the moment and Rafa won't drop Kuyt.

It is a lot to have a £15m man on the bench (and he is barely coming off the bench these days) when the money could be put to better use elsewhere.

I'd hold on to him til the end of the season before even considering selling him.

    Hi

(I'd rather LFC players don't play in pink boots, if you don't mind mate ;))

I'd not sell him. If we did, the bloomin' Yanks would be trying to pocket he dosh somehow.

He's a good player with great potential, given time. Sure he's frustrated at being on the bench a lot, but so is Robbie Keane. Put the two togeather & thats £35m we could bank !

Long term, we need to further strengthen our squad, that means get rid of the weaker players and buy better ones, that means further money to invest in players, not sell some of the better ones and be left with the weaker ones ... in my mind anyway.

Tempting, sure £15m would be right now but No Way can we accept it - certianly not as long as we've those untrustworthy swines holding the title to our club !

Id prob take it, although what can £15 mill buy you these days in football, all the english clubs price the home players too expensive, and there's no one that stands out that we should go for!!!

I like him, pace, power and good shot, not sure he's rafa's type of player though, too unpredictable.

I'd like to see him and Torres up front for a while

I understand where your coming from but personally the only one Id take out of those 3 is Barry, Owen is ALWAYS injured and Heskey isn't good enough, Heskey is a big player with SMALL clubs but he's not good enough for Liverpool.

id like to see him play a few games in a row, its no good to a player to come on as a sub every other game, how is he expected to have any match sharpness

    how will he develope otherwise?

if a bid of £15m came in, i'd be very surprised if we turned it down. i'd be very surprised if anyone did actually bid £15m

I have to agree with that, babel is very much a confidence player, so he needs a run of games, for us to see the best of him....

Me too. I expect it's all just an unfounded rumour.

IF Madrid are interested they won't bid 15mill. It'd be more like 8 million and a sneaky effort to force a transfer request from the player, and knowing them the fee would be paid in installments over a 7 year period.
Maybe another Nunez-esque waster thrown into the deal.

They're not the easiest of clubs to do business with.
