This article from the Anfield Wrap website last April nailed the problems spot on. Silence Isn't Golden http://www.theanfieldwrap.com/2013/04/silence-isnt-golden/
You don't need to be but it certainly helps get people to lose inhibitions and sing their arses off! Whether we accept it or not, family's with children who rarely if ever go to a game are unlikely to be standing up singing and chanting like a group of single, kid free drunk blokes would. To be fair it was never going to be a great atmosphere yesterday because of the makeup of the crowd. Regular match going reds would have been few and far between yesterday and as you say plenty of those don't sing when they are in Anfield so that wasn't going to change much yesterday.
Realy enjoyed the weekend i have to say, despite the result taught LFC played well Countinho played well but you could see cleary where our faults will lie this season, we badly need a target man that will score plenty of tap ins, Aspas looks like he could be that guy if he gets a good run. Like a few have said on here atmosphere was strange celtic fans defo out sang us but i would say that was due to alot of familys being there aswell as fans that dont normaly do games. One thing that struck me was the booing by celtic fans of Stevie g, why is that can anyone answer me ?
Have to say there were a few games I was at last season which lacked a good atmosphere it's not like Anfield in past seasons
It's not just Liverpool pal its all the big clubs. The atmosphere at any of the big grounds in the premiership is dreadful. Usually its the away end that is making all the noise.
i went in determined for a good sing song had the lads at it the whole way down to the ground and when we got in we started drowning out a few celtic lads around us for the craic till we sung the lucas song and it dawned on me that the chap beside us with his young lad probably didnt appreciate the f**king bit of it!!
The atmosphere wasn't too bad right behind the goal, stood for the 90. Definitely better than some home games I've been to
Great day yesterday. All fans were fantastic but Celtic fans made much more noise than LFC fans which was disappointing as Liverpool had much more support. Great to see all fans chanting JFT96. Roll on Anfield Saturday in the Kop.
Does anybody have any of the build up to the game be BT sports , I was told by about 100 people on Facebook that I was on tv .
Why is every man and his dog slaggin us off, I even had a so called mate who went saying we was all Irish, no Scouse's went.
Enjoyed Saturday. Poor game but sure that happens. Great crack in the Landstown hotel before it. Couldn't stay to long at TAW but good to meet up with the regular heads again. Roll on Saturday.
Probably a long shot but does anyone know where I could get a half celtic half liverpool scarf (from this game would be great but would settle for any half and half scarf). Thanks
Here's one on Ebay. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Liverpool...iendly-Scarf-10th-August-Dublin-/130975909349
