Loeffler should be in prison but her husband donated 1 million to the Trump campaign to get the investigation dropped. The other guy was cosying up to high profile KKK figures. And the Loeffler campaign made Warnocks face darker in her Facebook ads,and the Perdue campaign made Osoffs nose larger in his(Osoff is Jewish). I don't care what anybody says,politics has more scumbags per head than any other industry.

4 Dead. Seems most of the guys leading the charge with pictures in the chambers and senators offices are well know Nazis. They have been waiting for a day like this their whole lives. Trump thinks they are great people. Recall being down at Ground Zero on 9/11 2016. Trump and Hillary were both there in the distance. The amount of absolute head bangers there supporting Trump and taking about Crooked Hillary was a sight to behold. Trump gave a lot of groups that had been underground for decades to come out of the background. It’s going to be hard to put them back there now. A lot of the folks still there last night at the police cordon seemed to be 50+, brainwashed by Fox no doubt.
If this is not a wake up call for media to call out politicians lies,hold them to account for the things they say and to deplatform people pushing dangerous rhetoric.....then no country will be safe from Trumps or Johnsons. Those countries couldn't of had worse leaders going into a pandemic,and hundreds of thousands of people died because they were in charge. The only qualification that mattered in their administrations was loyalty,so at the worst possible time it was not just idiots leading those countries,it was idiots in charge of every government department. The Irish media feeling a bit smug today because the far right can't gain traction in this country,are missing what allowed the rise of the far right in the US and in the UK. Our government have long been using similar tactics to the Trump and Brexit campaigns and the biggest players in our media hve not just ignored it,but enabled it. We've all seen it but even yesterday,two ministers told bare faced, easily fact checkable lies during the most important day of government briefing in any of our lifetimes. They should be terrified to do that,but they're not because it's the norm. Deny,deny,deny is the mantra,no matter how ridiculous the lie is. Treat the whole population like idiots and you allow the actual idiots to gain more of a foothold. The biggest mistake America could make now is not to hold everybody they possibly can accountable,right up to Trump. Im already seeing suggestions they're worried about inciting more violence,if that is true they need to cop on. The rest of the world can learn from their mistakes without experiencing the 4 years they just did.
According to the NY Times it was Pence who approved the deployment of the national guard because Trump wouldn't agree to it. Can you imagine the reaction of Trump and the police if these people rioting were not white?
I think the lack of security to begin with is very suspect. Also the the slow response from other agencies once it kicked off. Maybe the powers that be were ok with this happening because they figured the backlash against Trump was worth it? Capitol police were basically told not to be aggressive or use violence. You can't expect to keep something secure passively.
Especially when compared with the national guard presence at Capitol Hill when those events were kicking off.
That's probably a very difficult call to make though... When you look at the nutters that were out protesting, they are the very ones that would happily escalate violence,if they saw even half an opportunity.
A much increased police presence would have kept the building secure without the need for violence imo. To deploy minimal security and tell them to hold the overwhelming crowds without force, suggests to me that someone was making it easy for the protesters to gain acces to the building.
Especially when intelligence agencies would have known many planned to run amok. It will all come out, there will be people who'll give their right arm to get on a lifeboat, there will be a queue to spill the beans on Trump once he's no longer President.
I think you are judging the response on our experience of living in Ireland and not in the context that everyone of those protesters (20-30,000) could have been armed which had to have been a consideration for those making the decisions yesterday. Even a tiny fraction of them being armed could have turned into a large loss of life. I'd love nothing more to see those MAGA assholes batton charged ala Gardai vs English hooligans in lansdowne road but civil war could literally have been unleashed yesterday and it appears the right approach was taken. It's a miracle only 4 people are dead.
I didn't hear that mentioned once last night that guns are the problem. Half of them are in army gear with military vests and helmets. God only knows what they are carrying and how much arms training they have. One shot yesterday could have led to scenes the most expensive Hollywood couldn't afford.
But if we play that logic out further, where does that leave the security of hundreds of politicians,including the vice president going forward? This wasn't unexpected and they've just shown the world that if you turn up with weapons you'll have no problems storming the Capitol,in fact you don't even need weapons because it will be assumed you're carrying, providing you're clever enough to be white. There has to be something in between what happened yesterday and a full scale gun battle between both sides. If a black or Muslim militant group spent 3 weeks on social media organising and threatening an insurrection, with high profile black or Muslim leaders inciting it publicly, it would have been like Tinnamen Square during a military parade there yesterday. Its hard to criticise how the law enforcement present handled the situation, but the security planning was an absolute joke. For a country obsessed with security, somebody stinks here.
