We have to get 3 points here!! Spurs only claiming a point today should be enough motivation for the team. We can claw back up the table if we perform against a weakened villa side.We should be attacking again from the off like the spurs match but hopefully taking our chances as Birmingham did against them midweek.

Yes this game was the first Monday night win for over 10 years excluding Easter Mondays and Stephen's Days.
A month later Liverpool also beat West Ham at Anfield.
Then there was Man City this season.

I remember Ba for Milan but pretty sure he didn't play in the premiership. I think the guy you could be on about is Jamie Lawrence, a winger who always had ridiculous coloured hair-do's.

3 points needed here to keep in touch with city villa have a lot of injuries and young is suspended anything less than a win is a bad result imo

Would like to see us get at Villa. Young suspended which is a bonus. There for the taking.
Reina
Johnson Skrtel Soto Aurelio
Maxi Mereleis Lucas Cole
Ngog Torres
Johnson and Aurelio will get forward and get at them. Would also like to see Pacheco come on and play some perhaps off Torres or even Maxi off Torres because that looks like a promising combination.

Should really be getting the 3 points here against a weakened Villa side but thats what I thought last year and they beat us. Hopefully Nando will find his form and give us something to shout about. Be very dissapointed with anything other than a win here.

So he did. 9 premier league appearances for Bolton back when Fat Head was resurrecting has-beens careers to no avail.
As for tomorrow night, hope to see the team approach the game like we did against Spurs. If we boss it in midfield like we did last week and take our chances this time then 3 points should follow.

3 points against an injury hit Villa, no excuses. There defence is not as solid as it used to be, their CM is lightweight due to injuries.
We just need to watch Downing and Agbonlahor, other than that we should be winning this by a couple of goals.
Hope the manager goes with the same team bar Carragher as against Spurs.
Looking forward to it now.

This will be an emotional night for GH and I really hope he gets a standing ovation from all Liverpool fans. He did a great job whilst at Liverpool and nearly lost his life for the cause. An absolute legend.
To the match then, well another must win. Villa are a team in transition and are certainly there for the taking. If we can boss the midfield with Lucas and Miereles I can see us creating enough chances. However we have shown in the past month that we don't take our chances and score enough goals. Now if Torres, Kuyt, Maxi and Cole hit some form in front of goal we could have a hatful.

Should be winning against these at home but have said that before this season. Play the way we did against Spurs in the 1st half and we should have more then enough to win 3 or 4 nil. We learned against Spurs and in other games this season if you don't put away the chances you create your going to pay for it. Hope GH gets a good reception.

Clear according to Google but I wouldn't think snow would make that much difference to a heated pitch anyway.
The pitch wouldn't be affected, I've heard it's -4 in Liverpool at the minute but the pitch is +12.
So many of the games that were called off last January were to do with crowd safety outside of the stadium in the snow (including our home game with Tottenham) and not because of an unplayable pitch.

A few observations:
1. As good as Liverpool are playing this half [and I think they're doing really well], Villa can't be this bad second half. This game reminds me of their game against Arsenal the other week.
2. Why have Villa moved Albrighton out to the left? He looked to be having some joy against Konchesky. Oh well, not complaining!
Ron1892

Definitely, couldn't agree more. What's impressing me most is that we're much quicker moving the ball across the pitch and playing it forward. We're really stretching the Villa midfield and defense. Keep it up lads!
