Some terrible performances and passion from the players in the last few games. The season starts this Sunday. Rafa needs to get a rocket up a few players and if they are not up for this one, I don't know what is around the corner, I really don't. We beat them last year without Torres and Gerrard, its seems unlikely they will start this weekend. Get stuck into the tramps from the first whistle.

Roll on Sunday.

The season could be fcukin over on Sunday. I think the shit is about to hit the fan but I hope that the anger is directed first and foremost at the Yanks. Looking at some of the players on the bench to bring on, its hard not to scratch your head sometimes. I think a few players attitudes are stinking, Babel being the biggest culprit, whilst Torres made himself available for a nothing game with Spain last week and might not now return until we are scrapping to fight for a Champions League spot for next year.

I hope there is a massive protest against these 2 cnuts on Sunday and that fans aren't hoodwinked by the anticipated media hysteria surrounding the managers position. The rot must be stopped at the top and done fast.

Just like Carra said, we did it last year without Gerrard and Torres. And besides its not 100% confirmed that they wont be playing yet so fingers crossed.

We need to be rolling right over the scum from the word go and not letting the f**kers breathe.

Despite our poor form lately we are more than capable and I know were all so down and depressed at the moment but we need to get behind the boys on sunday. We are in serious need of a lift and theres no better way of getting it than beating the mancs.

Rafa Benitez admits Liverpool face a nervous wait to discover the extent of Steven Gerrard's injury after the captain limped out of Tuesday's Champions League defeat to Lyon.
The midfielder lasted just 25 minutes of the contest at Anfield due to a suspected recurrence of a groin injury, and the boss will now await the results of further tests on Wednesday.

"I think it is the same problem," Benitez told his post-match press conference. "He felt something, so he knew it was better to come off."

Asked if he felt it was a risk playing his skipper, Benitez replied: "It wasn't a risk. He wanted to play, the doctor said he was okay and he has been training for the last two days. Sometimes it is bad luck."

Benitez also confirmed Glen Johnson missed the game due to injury, while youngster Martin Kelly sustained a knock in the second half of our 2-1 reverse.

"We will have to check the players tomorrow," he said. "We have too many problems with different players and we won't know more until we check tomorrow."

Agree. He needs to stop picking the players who are not stepping up to the plate. He dropped Skrtel tonight against Lyon, there's at least 3 players who deserve to be dropped more than Skrtel for Utd.

The Mancs are not playing well at all at the moment and hopefully they'll have it tough in Moscow tomorrow night. We're well capable of a draw and even the win. I think Rafa has a few key team selections to put right first though.

After Skrtels shambolic display on Saturday, Rafa was dead right to drop him. I'm confident a Carra/Agger partnership for a few games will see the defence improve no end.

With regards, to picking players which aren't playing well, I don't think theres much Rafa can do. With all the injuries, there was nobody not playing tonight who should have been

I agree that Skrtel deserved to be dropped. What I'm saying is that there are 3/4 others that need to be dropped as well. And those 3/4 have been playing poorly longer than Skrtel has. There's two defenders and two midfielders from tonight that need to be given a rest, for everyone's sake including their own, and the options are there to replace them. A kick up the arse never hurt any player regardless of their status and a player with a point to prove never hurt any team either.

the chorus of boos last night were deafening when rafa brought off yossi whowas our only decent player on the night and brought on the pornstar who wouldnt make a loca pub team. that is ominous cos if u lose the backing of the kop ure days are usually numbered. rafa has always divided opinion but more and more are goin over to the dark side. but this notion that we should direct all our animosity towards the yanks is completely blinkered cos yes they have been a pair of clowns but htey weent playing lasst night and they didnt sign voronin, ngog etc...and even if rafa did get 25m from them whats to stop him from spending it on babel, lucas and dossena. a fair portion of the balme has to go on the players and the coach...i expect a strong response on sunday, hope we spank em but confidence is so low i'd say fergie is licking his lips at the thought of putting the final nail in the coffin of our league season...i'm not abit confident though - i actually expect to lose the next two games too and i dont know where we go from there

In fairness, the players should need no more motivation for this game. I would like to see what the implications will be come Sunday if we are staring down the barrel of another defeat anyone? I think we can win but confidence in the side we put out last night is not good at all. We lack creativity in the centre of the park, we haven't become a bad side overnight. Its quite hard to put the finger on it.

If Aquilani comes through the reserves game tonight I can see him being on the bench this Sunday.

Some of the comments on this thread (all from the one person) are laughable at best! To hear them come from a Liverpool 'supporter' is pathetic. How you could want us to lose against our biggest rivals in a must win game at home beggers belief!

Anyway back on topic, Sunday we need a win. We need to stop thie rot. I will take a draw minimum but lose and we are goosed. Injurys are not we should not have lost 4 on the trot. Hopefully we will be able to field our full strength team but later today should give clearer indication of what we have. Be nice to see them lose few players later in Moscow but we can only plan for our our game!

Last night we were missing someone to put there foot on the ball and pick out the pass into final third. If Stevie isnt fit, we need big game from Lucas and Masch. Yossi played well last night in his role and looked lively. There were too many stray passes last night and defence still looks rocky, we need more confidence throughout the team.

Id settle for a small dirty win!:D

First goal on Sunday is crucial, if we get it we need to kick on and get a 2nd, if they get it the confidence wil be hit even further. Its a must win game and its at home so hopefully that will be enough to get them over the line and the season can then kick on from there.

What a game this is going to be. Massive, as big as Rafa has faced including Champions league finals.

Confidence is shot to pieces in the current squad, how we need a fit Torres, Gerard and Johnson on Sunday but very possible that all will be missing. Need a 150% display from Masch and the lads at the back, give a team a solid base for Benny, Kuyt and Riera (hopefully) to take on a United back four that itself hasn't looked solid. As much as it pains, I think we'll have to use Babbel up front if Torres is out. He's had his chance and blew it on number of occasions but I think his pace and directness (if he pulls finger out) will trouble United, plus he has a physical presence. I really hated typing that.

Season defining game. I hope Rafa is stubborn enough to ignore media, some fans and really pull the players through.

I really hope the crowd gets behind the 11 on the field, they'll need it. Upper Annie Road here we come!

Even a win here and it will only be hiding the defeciences of our squad. We ahve to be up for this game and hopefully we can put in an all action performance and come away with the points. united are not in great form themselves and we will always have a chance against anybody, especially at Anfield but I honestly think even a win here will not kick start our season. We look to be really struggling all over the pitch and I fear something is drastically wrong but anyway forgetting all that and concentrating on this game. We really can win it, just need the boys to pull together, get the bit between their teeth that the arrival of United at Anfield should ensure they have and just go at them full throttle and dont give them a second on the ball, do that and we can win. Play as we have recently and we'll be beaten.

I expect a better performance on sunday howeevr and think we'll bounce back in this game.

Ok Im repeat posting this since I believe its highly important. the yank twats are gonna be at the game.

Tom Hicks and George Gillett are, according to our sources, planning to attend this Sunday's game against Manchester United at Anfield. Being the massive football (soccer?) fans that they are, they couldn't afford to miss a big game such as this. They don't have to afford the trip, as no doubt a claim for expenses will soon be submitted to LFC for the cost of their stay. This is an opportunity we can't afford to miss.

Whilst their arrival will no doubt bring with it fresh speculation, about rifts and friendships, sales and investment, we have to make ourselves heard. We have to tell them, and the watching world, that quite simply, they aren't welcome here. Broken promise after broken promise, lie after lie, has become too much for fans to accept from these "custodians" who, quite frankly, don’t know the meaning of the word. It's time for Tom Hicks and George Gillett to get the message, sell the club (all of it) and leave, allowing us to finally move forward from this sorry mess.

We urge everyone who cares about Liverpool Football Club, whether going to the match or not, to make their voices heard. Firstly, tell Tom Hicks yourself. Email him at thicks@hicksholdings.com telling him why he's not 't welcome here. If you need some pointers on what to say, this is what Spirit Of Shankly has sent to them:

Dear Tom/George

You’ve been at our club for over two and a half years now. And in that time what have you achieved? Very little, other than a lot of hatred from fans, and a number of all expenses paid trips to Liverpool to watch that strange game called soccer. Please excuse the tone, but to be honest, it has gone past the point of us fans really caring what you think anymore.

All we care about is our football club, our history and traditions, and our future. To us, you play no part in that future – especially not if we want to be successful and keep moving forward. You will leave a black mark on the history of our football club. You have dragged us back, and this season, you have made us stand still, whilst other clubs move forward. The broken promises and repeated lies have caused anger, and there is nothing you can do to change that. You can claim all you like that the media make things up, but they didn’t make the debt up, they didn’t say they would put a spade in the ground in 60 days, and they didn't say that they would back the manager – You did. The pair of you don’t get on, and you can’t even lie without contradicting yourselves.

So do one thing for us fans. Leave. Sell the club, clear the debt, take the profit and go away. Because you, or your fellow “custodian” are not welcome here anymore!

Spirit Of Shankly

There will be a march taking place prior to Sunday's game. Meeting on Sunday at Noon outside the LFC Supporters Club on Lower Breck Road, it is a perfect opportunity for all of us, to stand as one, and speak as one, with one clear message - Tom and George, You're Not Welcome Here!

Phil!

Rafael Benitez cannot be blamed for crisis at Anfield, says Tony Barrett

Times Liverpool reporter delivers his verdict on the key issues facing Rafael Benitez and what is going wrong at Anfield. He talks to Ben Smith

How have Liverpool come to this point?

There is a growing feeling of despair that Liverpool's season is hanging by a thread and it is not even November. Everyone has their own view on who is to blame, whether that be Rafael Benitez, the players, or even the injury problems, but it was only a matter of time before the ongoing ownership saga off the pitch lead to a crisis on it.

With Manchester United arriving at Anfield on Sunday that has just brought everything to a head but at the moment the squad is clearly some way short of the standard required of a club that expect to be challenging for trophies.

Who is to blame for the current problems?

Primarily the owners, but Benitez and the players do have to take their share of the blame. The walls are closing in on the manager but it is not fair to rest the blame for this squarely with Benitez, not when his reign has been undermined by the continuing lack of stability in the boardroom.

George Gillett Jr was at Anfield last night to see a team that suddenly looks weak and vulnerable. Yes, Benitez could have done a better job in the transfer market and could have done a better job in motivating the players and getting the best out of them so far this season. But the lack of activity during the summer transfer window was as big a wasted opportunity as the club have had in many years.

After finishing second last year the hope was that there would have been investment in the playing staff to strengthen from good foundations. But the owners told Benitez to balance the books - he was only able to spend what he brought in and that has resulted in the squad lacking the strength and depth that it should have.

Manchester United would have been a big game regardless but the current problems have just raised the stakes still further. How big a game is this for Liverpool?

United is always a massive game for Liverpool regardless of form or league positions. It is the one game every season that the fans want to win more than any other.

Defeat on Sunday is unthinkable for most Liverpool fans but should it happen it would really set alarm bells ringing. Last season Liverpool beat United at Anfield without Fernando Torres and Steven Gerrard but their form is so precarious this year that they will need to get at least some of their big guns on the pitch or they are not going to be able to compete.

United will, as Lyons did last night, smell blood and they will relish the opportunity to put Liverpool out of the title race and send the club into an even deeper crisis.

Benitez was booed for replacing Yossi Benayoun last night. Is there any hint he is losing support among the fans?

A result often changes the way people recall a game. When Liverpool were 1-0 up the Kop were singing his name and there is nothing new in the crowd showing their disapproval at a substitution at Anfield. If the crowd don't like it they will let you know about it and there have been quite a few occasions when that has happened in recent seasons.

Having said that, last night's booing was much more vociferous and was clear there was genuine anger being shown towards Benitez. Come Sunday the fans know the team will need all their support to have any chance of beating United. Liverpool are likely to be missing some key players and now is not the time to turn against the team or the manager.

Tom Hicks and Gillett are both likely to be at the ground so the crowd may well direct their anger towards them if things start to go against Liverpool. Throw Michael Owen's return to Anfield into the mix and it could be an even more volatile atmosphere than usual.

Are the owners still 100 per cent behind Benitez?

Their position has changed and they insist Benitez is still the man for the job. As we know from previous experience, often what Gillett and Hicks say is not what is going on the background. The problem for Benitez is that the men who are at the root cause of Liverpool’s problems are the ones that will decide his fate.

What would defeat against United mean at Anfield?

Winning the Premier League title this season is already the longest of long shots with so many big games to come and so many doubts surrounding the side.

Defeat by United would certainly put the final nail in the coffin of Liverpool's title hopes but I have a suspicion that Benitez, despite everything that is going on, will feel confident of defying the odds and getting a victory that could turn the tide.

"I think Nando might be alright for Sunday, but I am not too sure about Stevie," added Johnson.

Hope Gerrard,Torres & Johnson will all play & we put on a display to put a smile back on everyone's face.
If fit i would like to see Gerrard back in center midfield role instead of Lucas or Mascherano + Babel in the hole behind Torres with Yossi on left & Kuyt on right & go for it.

anyone going to the game sunday get behind the team and create a cauldron atmosphere, an atmosphere like the chelsea semi an atmosphere like juventus 1/4 final come on lads this is the time when we get behind our team and show who the best fans in the world are. lets get behind the players not slag them off like some other so called supporters of their clubs. i dont know why but i feel us as supporters of the club thses are the times when the club needs us the most. sing our hearts out sunday and truly be the 12th man. Sundays going to be special I know it and its up to us as supporters to play our part in the result.

Totally agree with the above. How many times have we come back from the depths of hell with our heads held high? To those people who want a change right now....let me tell you this.... your turning your back not only our manager who, less we forget, has put US as a club back where we belong among Europes elite with almost both hands tied behind his back, but also our clubs traditions.

We are not Chelsea & we are not Real Madrid. We take pride in being the best fans in the world. We..... are Liverpool FC.

Regardless of your opinion on how our club is managed or run....i urge all my fellow travelling reds to get behind the team 100% this Sunday.
We've been here before guys...its what makes us special & sets us apart. Rarely have our boys let us down when they have needed us most & they do need us.

Agree completely about Babel, which is why I said I'd prefer him up front with Torres. Unfortunately I don't think Rafa will play him on the right ahead of Kuyt as he'd have to drop Kuyt then. If he puts Aurelio in at left back (which I hope to god he does) than Babel really is our only option on the left as Riera is injured.....
Playing Gerrard at AM is a waste of time at the moment as we have absolutely nothing in the centre of midfield. No control of the game at all. May as well have Liam Miller and Glen Whelan in there.....

Think sunday could prove to be a very big game for us this season.
I would like to see aurelio start at left back, insua got a bit of a roasting last night and dont want that happening again.
At the moment our midfield is not dominating games so we are constantly on the back foot, the lucas masch partnership doesnt seem to be working but at the moment we have no real other options.
If Riera is fit i would like to see him start on the left i think he gives us good balance with yossi in the hole behind torres(if fit) and kuyt on the right. Dont really like yossi and kuyt playing wide left and right because they both tend to drift in making us very compact and we dont have the quick instictive passing that this sort of play requires to open teams up.

Glen Johnson is hopeful he will recover from his groin injury in time to take his place in the Liverpool team to face Manchester United on Sunday.
The Reds No.2 missed last night's encounter with Lyon after picking up the knock in training but he is confident he will be back for the big showdown.

"I feel a lot better than yesterday and fingers crossed I will be ready for Sunday," Johnson told Liverpoolfc.tv.

"I had a problem with my groin in training on Monday but it feels a lot better now."

Meanwhile, Fernando Torres and Steven Gerrard will both continue to receive intensive treatment ahead of this weekend's clash with United.

Liverpool defender Glen Johnson has told skysports.com he is confident he will be fit in time to face Manchester United this weekend.

Johnson missed Tuesday night's UEFA Champions League defeat to Lyon after picking up a groin problem in training.

Reds boss Rafa Benitez was unsure of the full extent of the injury and whether or not the England international would be available for Sunday's crunch clash with Premier League leaders United at Anfield.

However, Johnson is hopeful he will recover in time to hand Benitez a much-needed boost with Fernando Torres and Steven Gerrard both struggling for fitness.

"It is a lot better today, I think I will be alright for Sunday," Johnson told skysports.com.

"We haven't tested it today, just soft tissue work and massage, but it seems a lot freer than it did yesterday."

The summer signing from Portsmouth is also hopeful Torres will be fit to tackle United, but is unsure over the availability of skipper Gerrard.

Torres has missed the last two games with an abductor problem, while Gerrard was forced to limp off in the first half of the defeat to Lyon with a recurrence of his groin problem.

"I think Nando might be alright for Sunday, but I am not too sure about Stevie," added Johnson

There's no reason why Rafa cannot play this system now. After all Lucas was originally a box-to-box midfielder, not a holding midfielder. If he's prepared to give that role and freedom to Aquilani he should afford it to Lucas now. Lucas is not and will never be a holding midfielder and this is one of the main reasons we are struggling at the moment. He isn't related to the quality of Alonso yet he's expected to step in and perform in that role. Makes no sense

Was thinking that as i thought about where to play Nemo .

At present Gerrard is playing as a support striker with Lucas holding mid /box-to box midfielder and the system falling way short recently .

Just think Nemo is more suited to be one of the Attacking midfielders than Lucas in a 4-3-3 and Lucas more suited to holding mid /box-to box midfielder .

The Man Utd match is massive and the pressure on the management and team phenomenol. It's a derby and the biggest rivalry in world football so forget about form. Utd haven't been playing well but winning and no matter how we've been playing we've been losing! Fiorentina away was a strange game an d we had enough chances to win. Chelsea away wasn't a bad performance and again there were chances. We were had by a freak goal at Sunderland. The Lyon match could have been so different had Aurelio nailed his chance. Subsequently we ended up tentative and nervous and that cost us. The fact it was 4 in a row brought a big reaction from the press and the headlines were damning!

The facts are we have had a rough time with bad results, injuries and lack of form but that's football. We don't become bad overnight and as such we shouldn't panic too much. Our squad was good enough to compete last year and bar the sale of Alonso it's pretty much the same and now we're not good enough. Well I'm sick of hearing the so called experts going on about Alonso and lack of depth! Our first 11 is as good as any and we do have quality on the bench but we are lacking confidence.

The whole Robbie Keane saga left a bad taste and the fall out was we are short up top. We never got the cash back to spend up front when Keane went back south and that has cost us dearly. We were second only to Chelsea with attempts on goal and had we some back up in the forwards we may have sneaked something at Tottenham, Sunderland and Lyon.Torres is picking up injuries because we are flogging him to depth as a lone striker. He runs for 90mins and could do with help. Voronin and Ngog just don't possess the qualities for different reasons. However if you look at our midfield and defence we have quality in most positions.

Man Utd are a different proposition without Ronaldo and don't look the same team. We are capable of getting about them and should not fear them on Sunday. I only hope the players see the Utd team in front of them and don't fear the media and our own supporters. We are a different team with Torres and Gerrard and it may take the odd goal to win it and with Torres we have a chance. Aquilani will take a bit of time and there is no way he should be considered for Sunday.

I think we need to rest Insua who struggled Tuesday night and take lucas out of the firing line. If fit Gerrard should play alongside Mascherano and Dossena/Aurelio play at left back. Maybe Babel deserves a break if torres isn't fit. Rafa looks exhausted and stressed and I really hope we get a break and some luck on Sunday for his sake alone. Maybe if we can hang on the coat tails of the leaders until January we can bring in reinforcements up front?

Lads, never gonna happen but I would love to see Johnson used as an out and out winger on Sunday.I think we've gone a little stale and predictable at the moment and Rafa's gonna have to come up with something to surprise the Mancs on the day.Evra would have been preparing for a duel with Kuyt all week both mentally and tactically and I feel that they could be knocked out of their stride having to contend with Johnsons pace and quality. His speed and goal threat would keep Evra pinned back as he would be reluctant to be caught on the counter thus taking the pressure off Carra.

On form,Carra shouldn't be in the team at the moment if everyones fit and we're being honest by putting sentimentality aside. His biggest asset these days are his leadership and organisation skills-for that alone I would have him in there for such a big game but let him play at right-back where he was when we won 4-1 last year.Agger & Skrtel give a nice blend of power, pace, and comfort on the ball-its not like we can defend much worse with them at the heart of the defence than we have been recently.

Thats the team I'd go for anyway assuming Gerrard's definitely out and Nando (please God!) is fit...

Yeah its optismism at the highest level...

But it wouldnt suprise me that come 1.30pm on sunday if we seen the 3 of them playing...

But even with out the three of them we still beat them last year...

A victory could give us the confidence which is seriously lacking in the past few weeks and also kick start our season again hopfully..

Has to be Benayoun in there to supply Torres with the ammunition plus Benayoun never seems to play well when on the left wing.

I'd have personally have Babel upfront with Torres cos them scum can't cope with speed at the back but it obviously won't happen.

LIVERPOOL will decide today whether to risk Steven Gerrard in their pivotal showdown with Manchester United this weekend.

The Anfield skipper will undergo a fitness assessment on the groin problem he aggravated during the Champions League defeat to Lyon on Tuesday.

But while there is only an outside chance Gerrard will have recovered in time for Sunday, Liverpool are increasingly confident Fernando Torres will be available.

The striker is responding well to treatment on the adductor injury that has ruled him out of the last two games.

And Glen Johnson should also play having returned to training yesterday following his own groin problem, that forced him out of the 2-1 Lyon loss.

However, Johnson’s replacement in midweek, Martin Kelly is out after hurting his ankle when colliding with the goalpost while trying to keep out Lyon’s equaliser on Tuesday, with Albert Riera also sidelined.

Alberto Aquilani will also not be considered,

Sir Alex Ferguson has stoked the fire ahead of Manchester United's trip to Liverpool by saying he can understand why Sunderland's goal stood last week.

The Reds' dismal run of results continued when they succumbed 1-0 to the Black Cats thanks to a Darren Bent goal that deflected of a beach ball that was thrown onto the pitch by one of Liverpool's own supporters.

According to the laws of the game any goal that is aided by an 'outside agent' should be disallowed but referee Mike Jones allowed the strike to stand.

Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez credibly did not use the freak goal as an excuse for the defeat but Ferguson can see why the goal stood.

"It was an unusual incident. Obviously the goal shouldn't have been allowed but in the spur of the moment I think the referee was caught off guard with that one," he said.

"I must admit I thought it was a goal but I read the laws of the game saying if there was an outside agent it should be disallowed.

"I thought it was a goal like the wind, the wind can take the ball. You can say that is an outside agent. When you see that it is unusual."

Support striker??Seriously??He doesn't have what it takes to play in that role.He doesn't have the brain or the quality for it!!

And if Babel got the luxury of a regular run especially upfront with Torres in his preferred position he would back up what I always say about him.

Yes Torres and Gerrard are one of the best partnerships in the world , but With Alonso gone i would drop Stevie back a bit with Masch or Lucas and give him room to run into and put Benayoun up front with Torres.
I'd say if you look at the stats with Benayoun and Torres up Front v Gerrard and Torres up front id say Benayoun and Torres combination has more goals per game ?

Benayoun is perfect to play in the hole. I'd drop Lucas (no offence to him) and play Gerrard in the centre, only of course if he's fit. Mascherano is massive to us in these big games. Pushing Gerrard back there might force United into changing their game plan. Which no doubt will be to take Gerrard out of the game

Gerrard up front at the moment is unneeded when we have a great player like Benayoun to step in ... and were suffering in the middle of the park imo.

Not sure the stats but I'd say goals per game were better with Benayoun up front with Torres..

Id even be tempted to go with .. when all fit

With Gerrard the man running into space and covering when were defending with Masch or Lucas and Nemo or Benayoun keeping more offensive a head of Gerrard .
Definitely more offensive for home games v Teams out side the top 6-7 and at time away from home depending on the opposition ..

Dirk has very good "game intelligence" as Rafa would say but this is often overlooked.I just think his energy and movement would stretch the mancs and create more space for Nando.Wherever he plays,my main point was that I'd like to see Johnson in a more advanced role.

On Babel,I reckon he would improve if he was a regular starter-whether it be as a striker or a right-winger.(He's too one-footed and dim-witted to play on the left.).Unfortunately for him,due to our formation we play one striker and Nando is on a different planet to him so he's not going to get a regular look-in there. On the right,Dirk is very important to the shape and balance to the side and has proved his worth with far more goals and assists than Babel. When there have been injuries hes let himself and the team down with his attitude. He wont make it with us.

Dirk plays alot more so obviously he's gonna have more goals and assists than Babel. That's a no brainer.

Even when we have injuries Babel is still a sub and then sometimes still doesn't get brought on.His attitude is questionable sometimes but he hasn't ever had a fair chance.

I remember a time when Kuyt was shocking for months yet started every game and the same goes for a few other people this season.

Babel has pace and power and it's a shame whoevers fault it is that it's going to waste on the bench.

He proved in the corresponding fixture last year that he could rip them scums so called world class defence to pieces so he definitely has the quality.

REDS WAITING ON TORRES AND GERRARD

Rafael Benitez will give late fitness tests to both Fernando Torres and Steven Gerrard before finalising his team selection for Sunday's showdown with Manchester United.
Both players are currently facing a race against time to be fit to take on Alex Ferguson's men after recovering from groin problems.

Torres trained with his teammates on Friday and will be assessed further tomorrow, while Benitez hasn't given up hope of Gerrard recovering sufficiently before kick-off to take his place in the team.

"It's the same situation for both players," he said today. "Fernando trained today and has been working to a specific programme.

"Steven didn't train but we will speak with the physios over the weekend before making a decision.

"It's too soon to say if they will be involved. We will make late decisions with both of them."

Benitez is also hoping Glen Johnson has recovered from a groin injury in time for Sunday's game, but Andrea Dossena and Sotirios Kyrgiakos are still both sidelined.

I know it wont happen considering injuries but id like to see 2 strikers up front as more of a threat and Lucas getting a rest for a game as big as this. Some people talk of dropping Carragher, you simply couldnt for a game of this magnitude as these games are won and lost by passion and Carra will have no shortage of that Sunday.

Listen whats with all this analysis and discussion? This is the Granny shagging Mancs. Its not about tactics or who plays where its about about scoring more goals then them and kicking the foook out of Gary Neville. Its about Darts in Manc Eyes, Its about roaring like a mad eejit when we beat the rotten pack of minges and the shit hitting the fan.

+1!!! (especially the bit about Neville!!)

My brother just rang me, just after meeting Pepe in Carras, delighted for him, gutted for me, I would give my left arm to meet him:( Went over and said hello and wished him luck for tomorrow. He had his kid on his lap so brother didnt want to ask for a pick.

Me, I would have edged the kid of his lap:D

Oh...I am a Liverpudlian
I come from the Spion Kop
I like to sing, I like to shout
I get thrown out quite a lot (every week)

We support the team that's dressed in red
A team that we all know
A team that we call Liverpool
And to glory we will go

We've won the League, we've won the Cup
We've been to Europe too
We played the Toffees for a laugh
And we left them feeling blue - Five Nil !

One two
One two three
One two three four
Five nil !

Brilliant article, its refreshing when someone in the media seems to talk sense and not just the usual storm in a teacup nonsense!

My favourite part of course was saved till the end
"If Fernando Torres is fit, Liverpool will beat Manchester United and Benitez's side will be back dealing in figures even the simplest can understand."

Its obviously going to be a bit more complicated than that but i feel that if the defence can finally get it together we'll be in with a chance and perhaps Nando will get the winner but if i'm being honest i think Yossi deserves it so much more.

They were the same last year with Wenger and now that Arsenal are playing better theres nothing about him, there all full of shite and have to be seen as controversal to get onto that shite sunday show. The problem is that according to them its all Rafas fault whats happening at the moment and fair enough he has to shoulder some of the balme but Jesus 90% of it goes with the Yanks, yet they say nothing about their part.
Sorry for going off topic.

I was keeping my cool with him up until the kuyt pen incident, He nearly creamed himself when carra made the tackle suggesting that it could have been a pen the when Babytov swings out of kuyt and actually rips his jersey he says it was 50-50 and Kuyt was pulling just as much? Kuyt has had his fcuking shirt ripped so does that not suggest a foul andy...he's a clown..
