It was weird. Exaggerating is one thing but there was no rain and not even a puff of wind last evening in Cork. That is getting it completely wrong. It was cringe watching them trying to make an issue of it on the news last night. They had invested so much in it that they had to go with it. FFS they were talking to 4 reporters in the worst affected areas and three of them were bone dry with no background wind. It was embarassing. Safety first is the right approach but it's like they had to keep pretending after it was obvious that it wasn't a fraction as bad as they thought.
The sea looked really bad in Galway yesterday and then you had three elderly people in it getting bashed all over the place. Should be arrested the lot of them.
I got a few videos from family down in Galway and it looked pretty rough, as above as he was videoing some muppet was walking across the the little pier to the diving board between waves smashing over the top. It was clear from the off that they weren't sure if the path would come over us but they can't risk underplaying it in case it turns out to have a devastating impact. Poxy morning in Dublin today!
Suits the Government to have the country talking about the weather for a week or so. Takes people’s mind away from all the other issues in the country. Must have a read of the papers to see what news they managed to bury over the last few days.
I know the rain always makes things even worse, but lets face it mate, the traffic has been crap around Dublin for a few years now - special thanks must go to the DCC for that btw !
