Hadn't read the policy fully til now but I see unclaimed vouchers in 12 months get automatically turned into a refund. I'll probably do that as it's not big money and the alternatives sound like a lot of effort
No idea of how well Ryanair is doing but I was afraid of another lockdown and them either going belly-up or changing their tune again and saying vouchers only, no refunds.
i booked my flights earlier in the year by visa debit and some one told me i cant get chargeback because i didnt book by credit card, is this true? Thanks
It says automatically refunded but sure who knows. I think I'll use the voucher sooner than expected for some reason anyway
I was affected at the start of corona and asked for a refund Today i received this Dear Customer, We acknowledge your request for a refund in lieu of a travel voucher for your unused booking. We confirm that your refund request has been processed back to the form of payment used to pay for your booking. Your issuing bank will take 5-7 working days to process this refund amount back to your account. The amount refunded to your credit/debit card/method of payment is EUR XXX Please note the travel voucher issued has been voided and can no longer be used.
Hope ao. I just thought it was a bit mad, the email was just them saying your in the system but don't email us as we are busy. Then they sent it twice the dopes.
Rang Ryanair on Wednesday and said that I didnt want the vouchers that they offered me and insited that i take. The guy on the phone initiated a refund and got emails saying the funds will be back in my account within 3-5 days. Anyone still waiting I would give them a ring and should be sorted quick enough
I got 3 of those emails on Friday and was in my account by Tuesday. All for flights in April. Still waiting on a refund for one in May but looks like they are getting through them finally.
Long past time they have people back their money - what they did was inexcusable. What's worse is that they were sort of let away with it by FG, when they were in government (I say that in the context that FG backed their campagn to try and force the EU change, to compel us all to accept vouchers, for example). People should still be giving Ryanair (and Aer Lingus) absolute hell this.
I got my first refund yesterday Making sure you are aware..... You NEED to get through to the Human on Chatbot confirming your refund and then receive written confirmation via email from them that your booking is now marked as such. To the best of my knowledge, if you dont get this far your booking remains in limbo
Got my final refund. As mentioned get a human to acknowledge your request and then they follow up with an email to say its in a queue.
