I've never been his biggest fan, but he certainly was doing well this year, so good for him.

Hopefully, he'll continue to go from strength to strength

Absolutely made up for this fella...written off by so many, including our some of our own...'he's not good enough', 'he's not captain material', some still til this day question this and wonder why the likes of VVD haven't been made club captain...well ye know what he fucking is good enough and will rightly go down as one of our greats...can't say enough good stuff about him, just sooo happy for him!!

Hopefully he does the shuffle if/when he's awarded it.

I think he should be player of the year. He has gone up to another level (I guess a lot of the team have in this amazing season). He's now probably equally good as an 8 or a 6. His performance playing deeper against a top quality Leicester midfield on Stephen's day was one of the most dominant midfield performances I've seen. Can't wait to see him lift the trophy

Horrible news, but I had a feeling it was coming. Judging by his reaction coming off on Wednesday
He is still the only man for the trophy lift, so I'm just thankful his arm wont be in a sling

Kimmage is a lot of things but defo not a drug cheat. He gave up cycling & was ostricsized from the sport for "spitting in the soup" and telling the truth of drugs in sport. What he is asking is if taking pain killers is cheating ... in simple terms they are a performance enhancing drug. I have a lot of respect for him but don't agree with everything he writes.

What a great captain to have. Delighted for him. Classy guy. He's taken some stick over the years but he is now a World, European and England Champion. He's still only 30, if he keeps himself fit, and he is a model pro, there is no reason we couldn't get 5 more years out of him. Only 5 appearances behind God in the alltime appearances chart, has surpassed the likes of Souness already.

And some say (even on here) he isn't captain material!!

Don't usually do names on the back of my top but got Hendo this year...my fav player, lots of competition but I just love him and his journey.

Turned down as an option to sign by Fergie (thankfully) in 2010 for......

"we noticed that Henderson runs from his knees, with a straight back, while the modern footballer runs from his hips. We thought his gait might cause him problems later in his career"

Wanted to stay and fight for his place in 2012 when we were shipping him out to Fulham

Universally derided as a "workhorse midfielder and not much else" but then when compared to his partner in midfield - one of the finest to ever grace the game, how could you be viewed favorably?

Work hard, head down and fast forward a few years......

That workhorse is odds on to be player of the year, an example of how to put 100% in every single time.
He's taken to the captaincy, like a duck to water
He's held the Champions league, World club, Super cup, and FINALLY the PL trophy over his head in the last 18 months, and every single time he's performed his "Hendo shuffle" each and every time......hasnt seemed to have unduely affected his gait :)

If theirs one thing Hendo is its captain material. I can't think of a player in England more captain material. He's exactly what pretty much all the other top 6 sides are crying out for. An absolute model pro and very intelligent footballer.

Delighted to see him do the shuffle last night. His interview was class, showed why he is looked up to, never about him always about the team.
