I'm not a particularly fussy drinker as I'd drink most lager and a few ciders Doesn't bother me what anyone else drinks and I'd never slaughter a brand or choice but the snobbery of many of the craft beer drinkers I know both makes me laugh and bores me to tears Grand if you like it chief but relax with the pontificating.
I've had it out of cans a few times but never a pint in a pub. And going by prices these days I doubt I ever will.
Had a can at a house party once and obviously tasted me Da's pints when I was a kid, but nothing about it appeals to me. People talk about the creaminess but the mixture of that and the taste is disgusting to me.
The alcohol appeals to me and the fact that the taste discourages me from drinking more than one or two. I used to find it hard to just have a drink or two so Guinness was good for limiting my intake. The only thing with alcohol in it that I thought was disgusting is hand sanitizer.
I'd pretty much drink any beer out of a bottle but I have to say I've grown very fond of tiger beer, really nice taste. wouldn't be a fan of cans of beer at all any more.
Love to get hold of those moretti glasses. Think they flew off the shelves last time. Bro has a blade machine with moretti keg. Tasty brew.
On the Brewdog myself. Have taken a liking to 2 of the flavours. Only started drinking it to get rid of an O Brien’s voucher. Tasty but expensive
Yeah that certainly wouldn't be my beer of choice to be fair, it was the first drink I had when I started out going to pubs so I'll always have a bit of a soft spot for it. I'd go in for a lot of different types of beers, gone through phases on the craft ones but get the scuts with them so don't touch them anymore. Moretti/Heineken would be my beers of choice if I'm on lager but if I'm out and the Guinness is decent I'd stick to that.
They are rubbish for holding the head on a pint. Have a box of them at home and they are deadly to look at and when you first pour the pint in it, it’s lovely, but give it a few minutes and it goes dead. The Carlsberg glass which is like it, is far superior In my opinion.
Anyone been on the Dublin Cork train lately or any inner city train? Is it strict no alcohol policy or could ya have a quiet brewski to pass the journey?
I got the train to Carrick few weeks back it wasn't that strict. They didn't sell any gargle but there was nothing stopping u from bringing your own. We didn't make it obvious or draw attention to ourselves so if its a few quiet ones then it be no problem
Chatting with the barman from the Galway Hooker in Hueston station yesterday and he was saying cops have been getting of the inner city trains on weekends and taking booze of people and issuing fines. Said they had a field day with the Mayo trains Saturday. I'm on the Waterford train everyday and most Friday's I'd have a bottle or 2 and nothing ever said to me. It's gas before Covid they were coming around with the cart selling ale and there is a bar in the first class carriage.
