It was always about money,if it wasn't he'd of signed a new contract with us. I don't begrudge him taking the best available offer, good luck to him.

I think Barca are probably strapped for cash after getting Aguero and Garcia on frees. Probably 400k a week between the two of them.

Barca might be about to find out how expensive it is to be poor. How often have we seen them tap up a player, wage a relentless media campaign and get him cheaper than his market value because he was desperate to be a Barca player, putting the selling club in a lose/lose situation? Their money troubles now has the world thinking that success will be a lot harder to come by,making that tactic harder to pull off.

I can't think of another player that left on a free that didn't have something lined up months in advance. Gini, to be fair to him was open and honest through out, the chance to resign was there right until it wasn't, you can't ask for more than that. An adults decision by both sides, wish him the best.

So it was about money after all.

LFC legend and nobody can argue that. Wish him all the best.

Plus a increased likelihood to win medals domestically and in Europe (with PSG knocking on the door the last 2 years).

Whatever about the benefits to Wijnaldum, PSG are getting a big boost by getting a player of his quality in. Best of luck Gini.

Great move for him. PSG didn’t win the French league this year and it was probably centre mid where they are lacking quality. They had that Gueye chap who was at Everton and Herrera who not top players. Gini very much is and will give them a big boost for Europe too. Barca was probably his intended destination but they already splashed out and two big free transfers
