Never been to Wembley but have a flight over booked! Just wondering is it crazy trying to day trip it? There is a 9.30pm flight from Gatwick and a 10.05pm flight from Stansted are they pushing it tight? Game is half 4 so is 3 hours enough to get to the airport etc? Trying to avoid taking time off the Monday if at all possible… my principal might not be too happy! Any help or advice greatly appreciated, thanks
Extra time and penos a possibility, trophy lift etc Personally if it’s your first Cup final and you get a ticket you don’t want to be worrying about those things. Safer getting a cheap hotel in the airport for some sleep, red eye home and taking the pain of being wrecked in work Monday if you can’t take it off.
Lads hiw does it work if u are in the auto cup and we get to the final who gets tickets is it a draw or ballot
Will there be packages for the final from any of the travel companies for us unlikely to get tickets from normal channels ?
Have to be in work on the Monday morning just wondering what the best option is for me? Which airport etc? Flight back Sunday night feels like the safest. Not been to Wembley before.
Presuming you are flying Back to Dublin the 22.05 would be your best bet. With possible ET and Pens even that be a Gamble. Id kip in a cheap airport hotel and get an early flight home if you would make work. Stanstead again prob best.
I booked the early flight home from Luton and staying in the airport hotel in Luton for €53 between two of us. Worked out around 80€ all in flights and hotel
What's the best airport to fly too? I'm Gona book flights and hotel and fingers crossed I get a 2 tickets for me and my son.
London you are lucky with choice & good public transport once you allow enough time. Luton Airport is closest airport for Wembley Stadium.
Flight out of Stansted at 22:05.. 52 mins from airport without match traffic. Game at 4:30 with potential extra time and pens. No way you’d make it is there?
im on that too and I presume the whole flight wil be match goers. Once it’s won in 90 min I think we wil be grand
I didn’t take the gamble after. Went for the 6:30am flight the next morning from Luton. Can relax a bit at the game then.
Best off. You'd be sick winning on penos and can't hang around for the trophy lift. On the flip side if we lost in 90 mins you'd rather be at home in your own bed that night
Flying into Luton the Sunday morning at 8.15. Reckon it'd be best to head to the stadium or into the city for decent boozers/ atmosphere with a few fans?
Not sure what the designated pubs are but I would get to Wembley early enough and head to The Green Man if it’s the designated LFC pub. Great spot. FA Cup final in 2012 (wow 10 years) it was tasty enough on the tube on the way out from City Centre and also getting off at Wembley.
