Liverpool have agreed a £1.3 million fee with Basel for striker Liam Millar.

The Athletic understands that the Premier League club have also negotiated a 20 per cent sell-on clause for the Canada international.

The deal is expected to be completed in the next 48 hours after Millar has undergone a medical. Personal terms have already been agreed with the player keen to pursue a new challenge in Switzerland.

Was looking through the rumor mills this morning and came across a good one.

We have bid 34m for Saul - with Atletico looking for another few bob to shake hands.

Their replacement will be Lazio's Luis Alberto who Lazio value at 43m.
Michael Edwards stuck a 30% sell on fee in Albertos deal when we sold him - so thats about 13m

Lazio's replacement for Alberto? One Xherdan Shaqiri for about 13m.

    And cue Michael Edwards statue

Saw a report we have agreed to sell Grujic for between £11 and £13 million, good to clear the books but thought we'd get more for him.

Guts of 20 million in the coffers there to give Salah an improved Contract. I’d be much more excited about key players getting nailed down for another few years without any hassle than a shiney new signing.

With a rest for key players this summer and hopefully a fully fit squad, I’d be more interesting in keeping this core group primed. First 14-15 players all need to be happy with outside distractions. To be fair to Gini he didn’t let his contract situation affect his play but others it could do.

Alisson, TAA, Konate/Gomez, VVD, Robbo, Fabinho, Henderson, Thiago, Jones, Jota, Mane, Salah and Firmino. They are all available for 70/80% of the season,
It’s going to be a great season.

Squad players like Kelleher, Williams Matip, Philips, The Greek, Milner, Kieta, Ox, Shaq, Minamino and Elliot all good enough to come in and do a job if the core group are all fit and happy. It’s obvious Divock is leaving so a young replacement for him would be good but I don’t see any major squad reshuffling before the start of the season

Liverpool midfielder Marko Grujic has today sealed a permanent move to FC Porto.

The Serbia international returns to the Portuguese club after making 39 appearances and scoring two goals during a loan spell in 2020-21.

Grujic was Jürgen Klopp’s first signing as Reds manager when he agreed a switch to Anfield from Red Star Belgrade in January 2016 before arriving later that year.

He featured in eight games during his debut season with Liverpool and six more in 2017-18, and then joined Cardiff City on loan for the second half of the campaign.

Two productive seasons with Hertha BSC followed as Grujic enjoyed regular game time in the Bundesliga.

He was involved in two League Cup ties for the Reds in the early stages of last season, notching his first goal for the club in the 7-2 win at Lincoln City, ahead of his switch to Porto.

Grujic joined up with Klopp’s squad for this month’s pre-season training camp in Austria and will now bid farewell to link up with Porto permanently.

Everyone at Liverpool FC thanks Marko for his contributions to the club and wishes him the best in his future career.

James Pearce in the Athletic says we are looking at Jared Bowen, I'd be over the moon with that, he fits the mould at 24 he is on an upward trajectory and has a great attitude. I was thinking this earlier in the season that he would fit right in here. Be a great backup option for the wings.

Aren’t West Ham not great to deal with? Can’t see them selling him so soon after buying him last season.

He scored 8 and assisted 5, and just arrived for 25m so is probably only going into year 2 of a 4-5 year deal, and he's English - he'd be mental money. Be amazed if West Ham didnt look for 20-25m plus Origi.
Agree with the consensus that hes a player that could and probably would thrive in the Liverpool envoirnment.

See that french lad Aouar has downed tools at Lyon and we're being named as his most likely destination. More likely because hes a midfielder than any actual interest.
He was the next big thing 2 seasons ago and Arsenal were all over trying to sign him, now they dont seem at all bothered - mind you if his displays in the U20's is any indicator of his current level running at great speed in the opposite direction would be my preferred method of dealing with this one. He was putrid.

Liverpool have urged AC Milan midfielder Franck Kessie not to sign a new deal at the club as they eye up a bargain next summer for free. LFC are helping him out as they’ve made their interest clear and already made a ‘concrete move’.

They’ve reportedly urged the midfielder not to sign a new deal, and in reward, they are willing to offer a contract worth €6m a year for him to move to Anfield on a free next year. AC Milan haven’t matched LFC wage offers for Kessie.
