any time i go over i stay in the Dolby or the Campanile.there's only a couple of Mins walk between the 2 of them.the Rooms sleep 3 People so it works out very cheap. i've heared Formule 1 being mentioned on here a few times.never stayed there myself but by all accounts it's very basic but very cheap....
The Travel Inn on Vernon Street is excellent value at around £55 per room per night - can be hard to get availability though. The Holiday Inn on Lime Street is good value - we got a room rate of £79 per night over the October bank holiday last year. Don't go near the Britannia Adelphi ever! A lot of the hotels now have a two night minimum stay at the weekends. A good website to try is www.laterooms.com - you can specify certain dates and it'll give you a list of availability Joe
Once i couldnt get a room for a million pound and I ended staying at the YMCA hostel in city centre...a never to forget experience but one not recommended Dolby, on certain wkends only let you book if you book 2 nights...maybe they have changed but they duped me with that before, my fav is the Liner, formerly the Gladstone beside Lime STreet, good luck with the Accomm
Young man, there's a place you can go I said, young man, when you're short on your dough You can stay there, and I'm sure you will find Many ways to have a good time............
ONe of the lads who travels with us stayed there before, he said it was nice i think its dear enough, morientes lived in it for a while when he came first !
hotels The lord nelson is right beside lime street, really central, its nice enough has bar, lounge and coffee shop. Aparently if you book through the liverpool tourism office you can get it for 50.00 per night during the week and 50.00 per night at weekends for a double including breakfast.
I've stayed in the Holiday Inn Albert Dock a few times. It's great craic if you wanna wake up to the sound of the Beatles every morning!!
A couple of new hotels also due to open next year. The Hilton near where the old Moat House used to be, probably be a bit expensive though. And Jurys Inn is also due to open next year, usually around the same price range as the Holiday inn express.
hotels its a pity they knocked the moat house, that place was great - says it all in the address - paradise street!!!!
Travel Inn on Vernon Street is a decent spot alright. Practically impossible to get rooms though. You need to book months in advance. £58/night if I remember correctly. I have stayed at the Embassie Hostel a number of times, it is very rustic but quite safe and brilliant craic plus the owners are Everton fans and are always up for a bit of banter. It is only about £14/night and usually there are no problems getting a bed. The YHA Hostel on Wapping Quay is better; about £20/night but again sells out quite quickly. Just across the road from Leo Casino if that is your thing; certainly is mine. The only other place I have stayed at was Holly House a B&B on Newsham Drive within walking distance of Anfield but well away from the city centre and night life. Pretty decent spot; £65/night 2 years ago. Ended up staying there in 2005 because for some reason we forgot to book accommodation until the last minute; it was the derby so we had to take what we could get.
Hotel Campanile I'm heading over for the Fulham game and plan on staying in the Hotel Campanile. When i rang up to reserve the rooms i tried to reserve 5 they were having none of it.gave me a couple of different excuses. So i had to make 3 different calls to book the roomsEach time i was quoted different rates. The first was 52.50 for the Friday,65 for the Saturday.Second time was 65 for the Friday and 65 for the Saturday and the third was 65 for the Friday and 75 for the Saturday (sterling that is)So as there is 12 of us going we are paying all these different prices. The first time i stayed here i payed 30 pound sterling and that covered me for 2 nights, there was four of us in the room. Now they tell us there's only 2 to a room. It's just it's handt because no payments are made until you arrive which is hany. Most of the other places require cc etc.
