We were linked to him in the summer. I for one really wanted us to sign him. The signing of Babel appeased me at the time but I'd still want Quaresma. Any fans?

Yes he does go down easy and he occassionally over does it at times but fuck me is he good. I'm not just going on last night as I try watch him as much as possible. He glides with the ball, great touch, vision, can do the specatacular at times, plays both wings effortlessly, beats his man.

    Any fans?

I'm with you on this one David, a quality wide man with loads of tricks and flicks to open up a defence. He tries too much sometimes but I think if he was in a team of world class players like ours this would change. He was the winger I was hoping Rafa would sign in the summer but I think Rafa had second thoughts because of the players attitude and character, which has been questionable in the past.

Rafa has a tendency to buy players on the basis that they played well against us (Crouch, Pennant and Zenden) so maybe he was watching him closely last night.

His attitude and character was questioned when he was at Barca at very young age, 18 i think. He has matured a good bit since then. He plays regularly enough for the national team too.

I'd love to see him sign for us! Agree that he falls down very easily "it seems to be a big problem with Porto players" & his passing is not up to scratch yet! but he is only 23, 24 & theirs a lot more to come from this lad imagine him in a team with Gerrard & Torres
He caused all kinds of problems for us last night most of the match we had two players on him! he had Finnan running around in circles & that don't happen very often

He's alright i think.Id like to see him in a red shirt but first he'd have to learn to stay on his feet.As for last night he was not that great.lot of tricks and that but overall average.I dont know how many times he sent a rubbish cross into the box for them.Reminds me of C.Ronaldo.Does well againest poor teams but againest the big boys is left wanting.Rafa wont be signing him for anything near 20 million or that.10 million would be a fair price in todays market.I think in babal we have the better player.Roll on number 19:D

lads he was a a world of class last night no doubts about it. 1 thing i would say though he,s a bit of a show of lol. na if he was,nt so me me me with the ball last night we could of lost by a big margin. sorry to say it but he,s class and if he found his players more often they would be hard to beat 4 any team. i must say ur goalie reina was man of the match 4 me he might of let in a penalty but he saved us from humilation. just my opinin thats all

Sorry peeps, didn't rate him before and don't rate him on what he showed last night. Being able to step over a football a few times does not a great footballer make. Yes he's quick but we have that and I don't agree he ran SF, maybe once in the match, but that was it.

They can keep him and Sevilla can keep Alaves as well.

would love to see him join myself. i know he can overdo things at times and try one to many tricks when he shudnt but the lad has all the potential and quality to be world class. lets remember he was only a kid when he signed for barce and didnt get on with them but after coming to porto he's been a revelation for them. im not the biggest fan of pennant or yossi and feel that the right side of midfield is definintley somewhere we can improve on. i also think rafa would be able to get quaresma to cut out all his flaws on the pitch and become more of a team player. when compared with pennant theres no contest. quaresma is the real deal.

Think he plays on the left, but he could still definately improve our squad. It's unlikely to happen now though as his price would be near €20m and it looks like the purchase of Babel put an end to the speculation. I don't think Rafa could justify spending more money on a winger with /Yossi/Sicknote/JAR/Aurelio/Pennant/SG even Dirk in tough times, providing us with enough options out wide.

He looked like Porto's best player, but I dont think that he would have been as impressive if he were in a red shirt.

Have to say mate he's never looked out of place in the International team!!

He's a right footer who can play either side, but prefers playing on the left! I think he'd be well worth €20m! LM has been a problem position for us for a long time now & Babel is not the answer to the problem he's a striker & that's were he'll eventually end up playing!

No shame in that! look at the players that were in front of him it had nothing to do with his ability that he left, he was a young lad who wanted to play first team football & never would have got a fair chance at Barcelona, were very few young players ever get the chance to break in to the first team, cos when they need a player they just go out & buy the best players in the world!

Also lets not forget here Rafa must rate him highly cos he tried to sign him in the first place & was only put off by the fact that Porto keep putting up the price!!
