Its up to 7 now. Thats one seriously fooked up country, I know a lot of people dont like Michael Moore cause he only tends to tell the side of a story he is on but stats are stats and when you see in Bowling for Columbine US gun related deaths compared to the rest of the world its shocking to say the least. Canada have almost as many guns/rifles per head as the US but their death rate is in single percentages compared to the US let alone Europe, Australia, Aisa etc., He interviewed some kids in Canada to get their take on why there are so may gun shootings in the US as even though these were slackers their point was accurate in Canada if you have a problem you talk about it and try and resolve it, in the US if you have a problem you shoot the problem and the problem is solved. All the gun nuts in the US harp on about their right to bear arms, but when the constitution was written 'arms' were muskets that had to be reloaded with gun powder after every shot, I dont think they had semi automatics in mind
was is not that canada and australia had less deaths than the US in numbers but more in percentage of population ?
all americans and no excuses , think there the worlds super power etc nobody needed to die in 9/11 etc but america i think needed something to show them that they can be got at anytime having said that i dont condone violence of anysort
Im pretty sure the US trained and funded Osama to fight against the Russians before he turned on his master. The baffling thing is the vast majority of US citizens dont know this and not only that think the US never did anything to provoke such an attack. Just look at Iraq now, Osama has never been found and they dont seem to care anymore despite what he did, and they just went into Iraq for the oil but used 9/11 and WMD's as an excuse. Like you I would never condone what happened but the yanks really need to realise the world does not revolve around them, and protecting their interests doesnt mean invading countries that have the oil you want, talking all your soldiers and equipment across the world when it is needed at home, like when Katrina struck.
The USA is a crazy country with crzay ammendments in ther constitution. What is the ammendment in there the 5th i think it is that allows Fire Arms. The correspondent on Sky news said it was the 4th shooting this week in colleges/university's in the States, crazy man crazy.

And how did you spin off into iraq from guns? Listen, there are a lot of responsible gun owners in this country, the vast majority of whom are sportsmen and hunters. With limited exceptions, the murders in this country are caused by black market guns, which would be available to the bad guys whether guns were illegal or not. There are others who want to protect themselves if and when society collapses. That sounds crazy right? Well, you broguht up Katrina. Society collapsed for several weeks in the affected area, a complete state of lawlessness. The only person who could protect your home and family in those situations is yourself.
The Pakistanis are having there own trouble, with the Taliban gaining more ground every day, and with suicide bombing nearly a daily occurrence (not all down to the Taliban) but American forces on the ground in Pakistan in my opinion would make things a lot worse for the people trying to keep things under control over there.It’s a no win situation really. If he’s there I don’t think ye’d get him even if ye were to get in.
I guess the Brits must be classed as isolationist then seeing how they dont want to be part of Europe. We went from onto Iraq from guns when Elnino_the_kid raised it and really any violence in the US will swiftly have Iraq brought into the discussion. But like I said before the right to bear arms afforded in the constitution that all the chest thumpers declare when any attempt at gun control is raised was written when muskets were the gun of choice and has been abused beyond its original intent, the same as the right to free speech unless of course it was in the early days of the Iraq war and to exercise that and oppose the war meant you were not a patriot.
Yeah the gun issue is big here, and there are strong arguments on both sides of the issue. I don't anticipate that it will be going away any time soon either.
