It shows the prices of things in 1989, and states that ticket prices have risen by 716%, so it shows you a comparison of how much stuff would cost today if it inflated the same way tickets did (by 716%)

That part seems to get lost on people. Plenty of morons on facebook saying levis dont cost 409quid etc.

The campaigning won't be enough. It's good to highlight the issue and supporters of all clubs should get behind it,but boycotting is the only way to bring the necessary change about imo. The fact that Arsenal will still sell the tickets is beside the point. If the big clubs supporters could organise a boycott of away fixtures, the clubs outside the bigger ones would be taking enough of a hit financially to do something about it and maybe even enough to get the majority when it comes to a vote among all the clubs. Easy for me to say as I don't do aways but I did boycott Anfield and anything that put money into the club while Hicks and Gillett were our owners. If you believe in something enough,it's worth sacrificing for. That's just my opinion anyway.

I realise its a league wide movement but I think we should look at our own club and our ticket prices before trying to get other clubs to change their prices. If we could get a promise from JH and co to lower ticket prices by say 5 pound over the next 3 seasons it would be a start.

It's more about the fluctuation in prices for away supporters depending on the team,ie. fans of certain clubs being penalized and paying sometimes more than double what fans of other clubs do for the same seat.

I’ll be honest and think this campaign is a waste of time. The whole idea that we have these banners in the Emirates tonight while at the same time filling the away end is completely contradictory.

Would make far more sense to support the idea of a wage cap within football, let’s face it, the wages are crazy and the costs associated with this are passed directly onto the fans. Players don’t need to be paid how much they are, no matter how short their careers are the money earned (in a lot of cases) in obscene.

Good post, and agree with your points.
Most Football supporters dont realise the clout they have, if only they organized, and banded together, and protested against ticket prices, then things would change quickly. But it is an uphill battle,as clubs see their tickets still being bought, and the grounds filled.
If supporters got this up and running, then the Clubs would be forced into a rethink on their ticket prices, which are pricing so many out of going to the game.

With the fact it is so hard to get on the away ladder now I doubt we would ever be able to do a proper boycott, people will always be thete to buy the tickets.
At the sos meeting a couple of weeks ago there was talk of every fan not going in until 15 minutes after kick off, this would make a big impact and could wreck the Premier Leagues image of being 'the best and most exciting league in the world' if whole away ends are completley empty.

I strongly disagree that this is a waste of time and I think its a terrible attitude to have before its even really started

One of the lads at work is an Arsenal fan and he said the dearest ticket for tonight's game is about £134.The same seat for Saturday's game with Stoke is about £50.As long as people are willing to pay these price clubs will continue to exploit them.A boycott is the only way but as Lionel said in another thread the 1000 tickets that City returned were sold to home fans anyway so that may not work either.

Think this could be a super idea in this battle against prices, similar to the reaction that the justice protest got a few years back against arsenal at home. If it was a televised game it would be even better but would the kick off not be delayed due to congestion similar to the way 90% of dublin games are in croker?

Just a point on prices for different clubs, do we not do the same?
Is the away tickets not the same as home tickets in Anfield in that CAT A is more expensive than CAT C?

Yes but it's just a few quid as apposed to the way Arsenal price their Catogory's. they charged us and City 62 pound but their next home game v Stoke they'll charge the Stoke fans 36 pound!!

I think a cap on wages won't be to far off , if not by managers then by the pl .
As regards the away ticket prices and protests , banners etc it seems to already have had a positive effect as I'm pretty sure arsenal have said that they are freezing ticket prices for next season .
If they where going to do this regardless of all the talk of tickets lately then fair enough but I bet that at least a few clubs either freeze or reduce our away tickets next season .

I also think that we are been exploited for having such a good support as aren't we still been priced as a catagory A team so pay the dearest ticket .
