I have left my local supporters club because I refused to pay the All red subscription. I will not now be going across until the vermin leave the club. I dont believe they have any intention of selling. They are stringing us along until they get refinance sorted. RBS are making a fortune in interest from us and if they pull the plug I am sure some other leeches will oblige. Broughton and Purslow must know the score as well. Time for the Irish supporters to stay at home, i know its hard to do. Even now Purslows alleged former confidant has seen through the sham. Why Liverpool fans deserve to be told the truth by Broughton and Purslow By David Maddock Published 14:34 01/09/10 For the fourth transfer window in succession, Liverpool have made a profit. That is a worrying, depressing, statistic that puts into stark perspective the damage that is being done to this great club. The financial reality at Anfield over the past two years is they have made a healthy operating profit, generated by an impressive performance from the excellent commercial team now in place at the club. They are more than a match for any other club in world football when it comes to generating commercial revenue, which should guarantee healthy investment in playing staff. Click here to find out more! It hasn’t, because that profit has been swallowed up by crippling debts placed on the club by owners who lied about their intentions, when they bought Liverpool. They said they would pay for Liverpool with their own money. They didn’t. They said they would invest in playing staff. For the past two years they haven’t. They said they would invest in a new stadium. They didn’t. Instead they have grown just one thing. Debt. To the extent that it will reach £300million by the end of the year. And rising. Truly, this situation can’t be allowed to go on any longer. Roy Hodgson is a talented manager, but he is no messiah. He can not turn water into wine. He can not turn a seventh-placed team into a Champions’ League outfit, by selling some of his best players and replacing them with cut-price alternatives. It is economic madness. If Liverpool don’t have the lifeblood of Champions’ League revenue consistently, they face collapse, and yet their debts mean the manager is not allowed to compete for the top four place that will bring it. So what can be done? For a start, the fans have to make clear they have had enough of this nonsense. First and foremost to the American owners, by telling them they simply have to go now, and any plan to refinance will be met with passionate resistance. And the fans have to make clear their feelings to chairman Martin Broughton too, who has a massive role to play in the future of Liverpool Football Club. Broughton never speaks to the Merseyside media, he doesn’t think we are important enough. Neither does chief executive Christian Purslow. They both though, seem to have a regular dialogue with well-placed business journalists in London. So the business world is told there are at least five bidders for Liverpool, and a deal can be done by the end of August, while you, the real fan, are told nothing. Now, both are strangely silent when it seems there are no bids on the table after all. And a transfer window comes and goes without any investment in the team, even when the whole future of the club depends on it. So the time has come to let the chairman and chief executive know that you the fan won’t put up with this any more. You want to know what is happening, and when it will happen. There is an organisation called Kopfaithful - check out their website - http://kopfaithful.org/. They are dedicated to saving not just the football club, but the community areas around the stadium too, which are being devastated by the lack of promised investment in infrastructure. Kopfaithful have mounted a campaign in recent weeks aimed at putting pressure on the RBS to stop bailing the Americans out with further loans that require greater and greater levels of repayment. The sort of repayments that prevent any investment in players during the transfer window. They have also identified several banks who have been approached by the Americans over refinancing, and they are campaigning to ensure those banks know what a disaster it will be if their regime is extended at Anfield. True Liverpool fans must add their voice to this campaign, must make clear to the Americans and to the banks that further refinancing is not an option. The next round of refinancing comes up in October, and if RBS extend once more, then they should realise they will become a massive target for millions of Liverpool supporters around the globe. And if Broughton continues to ignore the fans and their wishes, then he too must realise he will become a target. To simply cut off all dialogue with the fans when things become a little difficult is never the answer – Broughton and Purslow have to tell us what’s really going on, and do it now. http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/opi...depressing-transfer-window-article569783.html
I've already stopped going to games, not renewed my All Red membership etc and hope many others here have not just taken the same decision themselves, but also encourage all their mates to do likewise - these fukers only respect one thing, thats money so stop giving them yours !!!
lads i maybe wrong on this.. is it not wrong not to attend games. after all when were at the games we do cheers the players on and shankly did say at times the kop end sucked the ball into the net. imagine the champions league semi 05 and people boycotted a game like that. does anyone think we would have won that game? that night the fans us were the 12th man? i maybe wrong on this but thats just my opinion and its open to debate..
There will be no more games like in 05, if things keep going the same way, we are all supporting the team and once the yanks go, we will probably be the first in line to go over to as many games as we can,. and bring the atmosphere back,. I would very willingly give up some of those nights if it meant getting rid of the cancer a little quicker,.
as a lfc fan for forty years i have seen the greats the winning of trophies stood on the spion kop and it breaks my heart to see lfc in the state its in today but in my opinion its wrong to boycot oficial lfc goods and games if enough suporters do this then liverpool is only going one place out of buisness because they canot function without funds these parasites will eventualy go because of fan power but not boycot i for one will buy lfc goods and go to matches as long as i live my loyalty to lfc whatever these two fuc.ing yanks do lfc will be there long after those two parasites have gone.
With all due respect mate the most important thing now is getting the yanks out with how the team do on the pitch a very distant second. If people don't act now there might not be team to support in a few years. The yanks will continue to bleed every penny they can out of the club until there's nothing left to take and then they won't give a fcuk what happens to us because there's hardly any personal liability on them. People need to take the pain of a boycott now or in a few years we'll all know what real pain is.
Irish fans boycott just means more scandinavian and asian fans will come and buy lots of official stuff. I ain't boycotting anyway.
Only a few thousand will boycott at most, it hits it home to you when you see on this site people who aren't even going to a particular game offering up their fancards to others to use to get tickets - while at the same time building up loyalty for themselves because they know this season is their best chance to get as many games on their fancard by hook or by crook - makes me feel a bit sick really. Then you have those who are generally the same people, saying if they don't go someone else will take their seat, well most of the games won't sell out this season so they won't even need to use the seat you would be giving up because there are loads of spares already. Hope you are happy helping the Yanks screw the club because lets face it you are supporting them in their screwing of the club. I'd love to see a blockade by a few thousand supporters at a few of the turnstiles at one of the games.
I think it is a very fragile situation. A Total boycott could by enought people could see the club miss repayments on the loan. If this happens I think RBS will have no hesitation in trying to force the club in administration. As bad as things are now if that happens it could get a lot worse. One word lads LEEDS. and ont be fooled by the line we are Liverpool that will never happen us. We are only a hair line away from it. I havent bought the new Jersy or renewed my All red membership but i intend on going to games and not only giving my support to Roy and the Team but Voicing my anger at the two yanks. People saying they are refusing to go to games are realy not doing any thing to help the situation. If you dont o to games then u need to aleast go over to Ainfield one or twice this season and join any protests taking place out side. Sitting at home complaingn on the internet is doing nothing. I didnt get over to any of the protests last year (misses was preggers) but plan on making sure im there for some this year. I have another question, Where are SOS in all this? I get some emails about questions they asked the chinese investors and about trouble at the City game but dont see any real action. Why are they organising protests out side RBS headquaters or anything that will get national and international coverage????
Absolutley spot on mate. Have defo noticed one or two who are boycotting yet offering up use of they're card. As bad as the yanks they are!
Until you figure out how to get 29,000 STH to give up their seat and stop the masses behind them snapping up the same season tickets in a shot you can forget all talk of a total boycott.
10,000 or 11,000 boycotting is better than 2,000/3,000, don't you think? You have to start somewhere!!! Are you boycotting games?
If we could get 10,000 together all circle the stadium and sit down and don't let anyone in for the match, some of us would be arrested but it would be headline news.
Or just don't let either/both teams into the ground and there will be no game. I am in favour of both anyway, locking fans and the team out.
The pitiful figures that have joined up with the SOS is a definite sign that a boycott won't work. Most LFC fans don't give a shite and just want to go to Anfield without listening to people moaning in their ears about the yanks.
I won't be going to games or buying official merchandise until the Yanks are gone. I have the all red membership because I got it free from last year so I'm not sticking a single cent in the pockets of the Yanks. I'd love to go over to a protest and I'd support a blockade if I can afford the time and money to go over.
You obviously don't give a shyte so seeing as you won't boycott games and your an SOS member. So I take it you are sick of listening to people moaning in your ear about the Yanks, because your message is basically describing you.
