Not sure if this should be in the tickets and travel section so posted here..

Liverpool can today confirm that their bid to qualify for next season's Europa League Group Stage will begin on Thursday July 29, 2010.

The Reds' seventh place finish means they will enter the competition at the 3rd Qualifying Round with the second leg to be played on Thursday, August 5.

Should Rafael Benitez's men progress they will then face a two-legged Play-Off (August 19 & 26) to see if they can qualify for the Group Stage.

The draw for the 3rd Qualifying Round will take place at UEFA's Headquarters in Nyon, Switzerland on Friday, July 16, at 13.30 (Local Time).

Coming in at the third round I would assume Liverpool will be seeded so home leg second, could be against Rovers you never know.

Seeding will be used but it will have nothing to do with determining if your home or away in the 1st leg.

Liverpool I expect will be the highest seeded club in the draw but it does NOT mean that they will be playing the 2nd leg at home.

Roma were the No1 seed in the draw last year and they played their 1st leg at home.

There was a ticket sale that ended in January where tickets were sold through the German Football Association website exclusively to German residents.

This was prior to the March ticket ballot on Uefa's website for international ticket sales.

Not sure about that Glen. Time and again you see the teams that start the season early suffer later in the season.

Season 05/06 was our second best performance in the league under Rafa after the early start due to the CL qualifying debacle. 80 points i think.

Personally I am for it. The players will be back training well before then anyway and we would only be playing meaningless friendlies. A competitive edge for the start of the League is essential. We all remember teh Spiurs match.

OK maybe you did not understand my reply. This years final tickets were sold as following so perhaps it will be exactly the same for Dublin.

In January of this year there was a ticket sale handled through the German Football Federation tickets were only sold to German residents only.

In March there was a ballot on the Uefa website for international tickets.

I can only presume that there will be a similar arrangement for the 2012 Final in Dublin.
