Its pretty obvious that we need a left back during the transfer window, Aurelio is too injury prone to rely on and Insua isn't good enough yet, I could be wrong as we all were with Lucas if every can get over the hatred they've built up for him. Rafa has said recently that a top quality player is 15-20 million so who do you think we could get, I'm struggling to think of a top left back that we could lure to the club if we get the finances we need apart from maybe Cissokho who would be hard to get seen as he'd be leaving a Champions League team for a team in the Europa league. So who do you think we could get provided the miraculous exit of Cancer & Aids?

Would be on my short list , has had a very good season this year .. A very attacking wing back as well .. Also like Phillip Lahm but didn't Munich have him at right back v UTD ?

i'd go for philipp lahm i no he's right footed put perfers playin left back then again he's not going to leave bayern in the champions league to play for us in the europa league like.
the guy for benfica, think he's brazilian but cant think of his name. in england there arent that many, and i dont c rafa searching through the c'ship to find a rough diamond like moyes has done with lescott, cahill, et al. i kinda like belhadj at pompey but that's just a stab in the dark. has always impressed me going forward, is very quick, young and could improve defensively in the right setting. already a decent defender in my eyes
David Luiz { Benfica} is a player who caught my eye when i was keeping a eye on Di Maria { disappointed me most times } even though he is a centre back he is also a very good left back and only 22. When i asked around about him i was told he was cost huge money ......
wouldnt mind seeing his floopy hair bombing down our flnaks..Had a decent game for them against us and it was only his second Europa league game..Think this boy could cost a few pound though because he can play any where across the back four.. Also he is not afraid to get forward or even have a shot as he had a couple of pops against us..Good reccommendation though..
That Davi Ruiz from Benfica aint bad, but his price would have rocketed with this season performaces, so he's a no-go. Baines is a very good player, but I doubt we'd get him from Gollum. Lahm is also an excellent player but like above, I dont see him leaving Bayern for us right now, plus his price would be quite high. Bale is a great young player imo... defending is'nt top notch, but that will improve. Going forward he has the lot, pace, strenght and a cannon on his left leg... unfortunatley, he would realistically be out of our price range again... Vargas is a very good shout, and I read something about the viola being in some financial difficulty recently. But he'd attract some top teams who could outbid us... It might be a case of taking a slight risk signing a lb for next year i Fabio is off... Wayne Bridge is a player who could do a job for us, and I dont think he'd be overly expensive either. Good player... Thoughts on Bridge??
Ye he was really good, mainly used as a centre back, but he'd have to be convinced that he'll get back into the Champions League cause Benfica will be there next year and it doesn't look like we will. Its going to be our biggest problem this season to attract top quality players to the team seen as we look like a team in desendancy
Not to impressed with Bridge to be honest and approaching 30 and imo was never the fattest getting up the wings either when younger.A player at that age imo would have to be on a bosman .
