Lads just a question to see if anyone knows of any details on getting tickets to see the world cup trophy which I think is on display in the mansion house in Dublin next week? Thanks:confused:

It does seem to be just competition winners that will gain entry to this. I was lucky enough to get to see it and get a photo with it in Bari before the Italy game last year. It's a great sight as you can imagine.

Dont know much about this new competition but 4 years ago Budweiser brought this trophy around 4 of their best selling boozers in Dublin, and I was lucky enough to be part of the security company who were looking after it.

There really is something very special about this trophy indeed.

    EDIT: Just checked this link...

It seems the comp is over. The link provided on the RTE page is dead...

Lads i just got back from this. Friend of mine had two tickets but when we qued up outside The Mansion House we just walked straight in after waiting 10 minutes. No one asked for the tickets so i dont know if they are even required?

Basically you go in & Ray Houghton is there for photo's & autographs. There's free bottles of coke being handed out while you watch a cuple of soccer skill lads juggle the ball & the kids can take a peno against them. Then theres a 3D short film about world cup 2010 but its all about advertising Coke really. You get your photo taken with the world cup & photo gets handed to you on the way out. Your really only there for no longer than 45 mins depending if you want to hang around but i'd recommend just to get to see the most famous trophy in world football. It finishes at 6.

I was lucky enough to get 2 tickets and went along, as I was leaving they opened up a queue for people who didn't have tickets (all the talk in the lead up to it was no1 without a ticket would get in but they probably didn't want a huge queue they wouldn't get through so left it to on the day).

Glad I got to go along.
