I'm not sure he's necessary with Carragher, Skrtel and Agger already there, the latter are very young for such good centre halves. I'd much prefare an experienced player like Distin for a few million, he might be happy to be 4th choice. Although maybe Turner would fill the void at right back and centre half. Maybe that's Rafa's thinking on this one. The story is that he offered Phil "I'm a Celebrity" Brown 6 million but Brown wants 12 million

Well all 3 of our central defs are carryin slight injuries at the mo so ya we need another one. We need 4. United hav Ferdinand, Vidic, Brown, O'Shea, Evans.....Chelsea hav Terry, Alex, Carvalho, Ivanovic, Mancienne. Thats the one thing thats lackin from Carragher.....goals. All the centre halfs from the other big teams weigh in with the odd one. How many did Carra and Skertel get last season? In fairness Skertel has a few international goals so he wil hopefuly get 1 r 2 this season for us. Turner wud be a good signing if we can get him for 6-7 million
in fairness Agger does chip in whip a few goals if he stays fit.Carra is not a goal machine but keeps out enough at the other end.Hopefully Skirts can get a few next season.
I think most liverpool fans rate kelly higher than he actually he is. He was on loan at hudderfield last season and as far as i know he only made it into the team playin full back. Dats at at League1 club!
Turner's a good solid young defender, we need another central defender. Age-wise, Distin's 32, Turner 25, plus he'd be another English player for CL squad. Who am I to tell Rafa what to do, but I'd invest in the younger of the two, rather than just getting one maybe two seasons out of Disitin, & having to replace him. However, Mr. Perma-tan is taking the p**s looking for 12m for him.
True, but balance that out against Distin 2-4m and Turner, apparently 4-6m. Id rather take Distin cheaper and decent with experience, and hopefully save the money for an attacking player.Though the nearer the season draws closer the less confident I am of a big name attacking signing.
There is no way i would pay £3 mill for Distin a player that you are gonna get 2 seasons out of max, Add to that Villa are after him and are willing to offer up to £5mill for him . Brown is crying out for a striker and if Rafa is willing to offer £6mill cash for Turner then maybe there could be a compromise involving 1 of our players plus cash.

Why spend loads of time bringing through young players and not give them a chance. If Tuner comes in, he will be fourth choice. anything over 3 million would be madness. Martin Kelly looks like a good player, give him the fourth choice place.
