Anyone see this, he was racing along and a piece of debris from another car smacked him on the head, knocked him out cold, he then crashed into the tyre barrier. Really scary stuff, very lucky as it could have been alot worse Edit - just seen on sky news he is in a life threatening condition. Lets hope he pulls through http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3hfr29J4Xpo

Great to hear he is recovering well http://news.sky.com/skynews/Home/Wo...lking_To_Family_Members_As_Condition_Improves Formula One driver Felipe Massa is awake and talking to family members as his condition improves following Saturday's high-speed crash The Brazilian, who was seriously injured after hitting a barrier at 120mph during qualifying for the Hungarian Grand Prix, is now breathing unassisted and moving his limbs. A drain from his skull wound has also been removed. The 28-year-old Ferrari driver had surgery for multiple skull fractures following the accident. But despite his progress, his future in the sport is uncertain. The doctor who performed the two-hour emergency operation said Massa had suffered damage to his left eye but he did not "know the quality of this damage". Dr Robert Veres said Massa would not be able to race again this season. Speaking about the long-term, the medic added: "I don't know (if he can return). It's too early to say anything concerning his future." Several fragments of bone from the skull had to be removed during the surgery. Massa was initially kept in an induced coma to help his body get through the 48-hour post-operative phase. But he was woken up from time to time to get information on his condition at AEK hospital in the Hungarian capital Budapest. The Brazilian is described as groggy but able to answer questions. Surgeon Lajos Zsiros said he remained in a stable condition in intensive care and further improvement could be expected. Massa's family doctor, Dino Altman, said: "Felipe is awake. He's very well and everyone is very happy with his condition." Dr Altman ruled out Massa being transferred from Budapest, with doctors suggesting he would have to remain there for at least one week to 10 days. Massa was struck by a spring that broke loose from Brazilian Rubens Barrichello's Brawn car. It bounced up and hit him on the helmet, causing concussion, and he crashed into a protective tyre barrier. Raffaela, Massa's wife who is six months pregnant with their first child, does not think he will have any long-term physical injuries and hopes he can return to racing. "He is doing good," she told Brazil's Globo TV. "Soon he will be giving joy to all in his little red car on the speedway."
Hope he gets well soon, and back on the track for next season, he's one of my favorite drivers, and he seems like a genuinely nice guy,. its awful to see somethin like that happen to anyone,.
Serious Injury to a good driver who has alot of potential in my opinion.Hope he makes a speedy recovery(No pun intended) and we see him back out on the track soon.
